What did you do airgun related today?

With weather permitting need to test the .308 Texan because of some changes I have made recently, nothing to outlandish but still hoping to improve its performance. I have made improvements in the past; Goal is 960-970 fps with 150gr with good acracy from 50-300 and beyond without over stressing the pcp. After the testing I will post the results.

I have the results of my testing and was able to achieve the speeds I was aiming for. However, the testing was conducted while tethered, and one of the changes involved using an aftermarket top hat with a stock valve. This caused inconsistency in shots 1-4. The 964 fps was achieved at3300 psi and between 1/2 and 3/4 power wheel with the stock top hat. In the future, I will post 6-8 shot string. 150gr boat tail.

To evaluate the accuracy of 965 fps, I performed a test and obtained satisfactory results, which could have been improved by stabilizing the table. The test involved firing over ten shots at a loose table, resulting in 965 fps with 150gr fn-bt 310 fpe at 55 yards using the Texan 308. As a hunter, I require a combination of power and accuracy, and FPE is essential in achieving this combination. I have video of shooting a spray can at 100 yards first shot but have to see how to convert it.

Took advantage of the 82 degree temps to run full gambit of my 22 pellets for testing the Pinty, despite 15mph tailwind. It was consistently shooting high today, which I think the wind can be blamed for. Definitely some surprises in the results. Try top ones at 50 yards soon, see how they/I do.

Also got decibel meter in, so might try my hand at getting some numbers soon.

I drove 100 miles today to High Pressure Pneumatics in Harrison MI to purchase a 75 cuft tank with an HP3 valve. Tom then filled it for me and answered several questions. I also purchased a tank carrier and cradle. I got to looking around when he was helping another customer and decided to buy some AEA pellets in 21.9g and 18.3 (you can never have enough pellets). Beautiful day and light traffic. I highly recommend High Pressure Pneumatics.
Tom is so great. I ordered a set of his tank holders with straps that i had gotten this week and he had put some candy in there with my order! Just a nice touch from a great guy.

Let the pinty rest today, my other guns are starting to feel neglected. Took 362 and 3622 out for some pleasure plinking. Also played with groups a little in the 12 mph angled winds.

Plus first tests of my new decibel meter. It says that the gun is louder to me than reality. Also, moderated vs unmoderated 3622 is about 9+ decibel difference, and I believe it. Unmoderated sounds so loud to me now. 🫣

Finished up with some m1 play. Only one I didn't get to ring the bell.

Came here to haunt you guys from AGN that are refugees.Actually I signed up today but had intended a year or more ago but forgot. Has anyone seen my mind lately. If you see it kindly guide it back home. Pasadena, Krag, I am the toastiest, Florida man and many more. You know who you are. I enjoy your knowledge here and on AGN. It will be easier for me here when I get the format memorized instead of looking everything up. My receipt of a Scoped Tempest last Friday was my last. Today it was reloading manuals and mold handles. I had thought there were a couple of thousand pellets but that will be later as around two to three O'clock.Be Well Brothers, Band..... I mean Rusty. That is short for RustyZipper.

Did a can cutting challenge, 50 shots or less. I managed it in 41 with Captain America and his atomic pellets. 15 of those were me trying to figure out my windage 🫣View attachment 12447
Ahhhh that's why you call him captain America😅👍 ....Cool challenge! So it's how many shots to fully sever the top front the bottom of the can? Hmmm, sounds fun! How do you keep the can in one place after being hit?

Yes, challenge is to cut it in 50 or less. Airguns are supposed to be 7yds off-hand, but I thought that inappropriate for pcps at a minimum. I actually plan to try this again with the Cap at 50yds, so that there's more challenge. (Was open for 22LR at 50yds). As for holding the can in place, string (or old cord in my case) through the can tab and then taped to target box so that it hangs down in front of it.
