What’s Your Favorite Caliber?

.22 hand down for pcps. Still cheap enough to plink for a few hours here and there. Loads of ammo selection. Dial up the power/pellet weight and you can bring down some decent sized pests. Ballistics (esp on .22 slugs) is excellent as well. Works well for short range and decently long range. Lastly less air hoggish than the bigger stuff, hey I hand pump!😅 My springers I still shoot all .177 though.

I'm partial to the 25 caliber so I have 4 of these at this time. Big enough to take out medium size game and packs a wallup as well. For general plinking in 22 caliber and pest birding I'm enjoying my Notos and Barra 1100Z. I need a proper 177 as well. Anything under $500.00 you guys can recommend that's accurate and reliable? Let me know your thoughts on this all!

.30 is hands down my favorite but I shoot .25 the most because it is cheaper. Not that fond of fumbling around with the smaller ammo. Getting old, I guess. I am going to start molding my own .30 ammo so I can feel free to shoot it all I want. I have one 55 grain mold so far.

2 years ago my answer would have hands-down been .22. That's changed a bit as most of what I do is plinking and target shooting. For that I love .177 for indoors and backyard up to ~50 yards. When going target shooting 50-100 yards at the range I've grown to like .25 the most.

If ya could only have one .22 may be the most versatile for low to med-high power levels.

I have .177 .22 and .25 now. I love the power available with the .25 but don't appreciate having to order the ammo...local shops carry a lot off .177 and .22 so easier and cheaper to shoot. My old, arthritic fingers have a hard time handling the tiny .177 pellets so by default, I guess .22 is now my favorite.

.177 for lower power and trajectory, .22 for general all round. .25 just as a experiment, same with .30. Hooligan period.🙂

Since I stopped hunting, I realised that power isn't perfection. It just masked imperfections.

Lower caliber is perfection, learn, then ' bend it like Beckham theory.'

Probably shoot .177 and .22 equally.
Poor pensioner.😉

Too be honest I prefer the tranquility of lower power calibers. Meditation. Music to my ears, or whatever the latest hip saying is.

Whatever our choice, enjoy.
