I was filling my Air Venturi Alpha this morning and at about 3000psi the compressor made a extremely loud air sound and after I was done getting back in my skin I saw that the bleed valve was bent about 15 degrees. After shutting it down I was able to unscrew it and there was a 2mm crack in between the threads. The unit was used maybe 40 times most of which was to run it during downtime. I called Umarex and they no longer provide parts for the Gen 1 - awesome! The unit seems “fine” otherwise - so that’s a bummer because if it is fine and a part as simple as a bleed screw is preventing it from operating that simply sucks. Does anyone know why this would have happened?

BUT why does this really STINK? - because I was just on my way to pick up my Ghost from the post office and now I have no way to fill it. Living in Hawaii leaves me to have to wait another few weeks to a month for a new compressor. UNREAL TIMING.

Sorry to hear about that 👎. So finding a decent used in date tank and having a dive shop fill it as a backup is not an option for you?

I ask because I’ve been kicking around the idea of getting a tank and larger compressor. If the compressor craps the bed, I can take the tank to a local dive shop.

Plus having a tank would make filling faster and easier, especially for tuning when I have to completely degas the rifle.

That is very unfortunate timing indeed! Do you have a picture of the bleed screw? If its a simple design a machinist could make you one and get you running again. My dad has made me tool parts, gun parts, car parts... you name it. 99% of the time its FAR better than anything you can buy. Even if you can get an oe screw the wait time could be misery....and let's be real, the first one failed.

Once you get air again.....enjoy that Ghost, an excellent pcp!👍
Your scenario reminds me of mine when I first got it. Shipped with a full tank of air I shot it down to below reg pressure testing it out. That night my brother and a friend came over and all i could do was show it off and talk about it lol (only had my hand pump) and no time to fill it back up😞

That bleed screw fitting is probably an off-the-shelf item that Umarex purchased for their compressor. You should be able to find the manufacturer's logo or name on the fitting. IF not, finding a similar replacement bleed screw shouldn't be that hard.
