Just received the new Airmarksman Quickie. Thought I would share. Preface this that I am still a noob / novice in PCP and high pressure accessories, so please excuse my mistakes in any wording or nomenclature.
First, it the packaging was of the plastic, slip fitting type used for other smaller tools, drill bits and the like. Packed with foam to prevent any damage. Good to go.
Build quality seems good. The black, I am hazarding, anodizing and laser engraved branding look to be top notch. There is a brass screw opposite the lever which I presume is for the internal valving. The only difference I see between the unit received and the marketing pictures is the pictures Airmarksman show the nut on the quick disconnect to be brass, or looks to be. The one received is not. The quick disconnect does feature 6 detent ball bearings. I have heard some have fewer, so that extra seems more secure to me. Appreciate that.
The extended disconnect does seem better for ease of attachment to gun fill. Granted, my Sniper XR fill is not that recessed, but I do like the convenience. It just arrived, only used it briefly, so will have to check on other guns if or when I am around others who have guns with rails or other more difficult to reach fill fittings.
Holds air well, at least for the brief time (7 minutes) it was attached to the 6.8L tank.
Size is compact and easily packed along with the tank. Attached photo with an automotive unit for size comparison. The only issue I have is that that the size lends inadvertent releasing air when one grips it to attach or detach from fill fittings. I just have to be cognizant of that lever and palm the unit with the lever away from palm and fingers.
It has a very slight bleed off when releasing the lever after filling gun to aid in disconnect.
Noob problems - I thought it was defective. Found there is a difference in how much of a press on the lever one has to use when actually filling a gun and not having it attached to gun. Be sure to press lever all the way. I know, it is probably just me.
Cost. Well, that is for you to decide. It does seem very expensive for what it is. I am still trying to wrap my head around it. However, a lot of this airgun stuff seems that way.
None the less, it works well, so far. It is handy and quick. Like it better than continually using the valve on the tank. I will stop rambling, now. Hope you all have a good day.
