EVOL Tom and American Air Arms

I have reg at 1600-1650 , I'm going to shoot it once my carm Mags get here, the factory mags despise the hades for me anyways, I was single loading during this tune.

I think the 18s will still shoot 800fps tho
Glad someone else is having issues with the hades also. I sent my mags to Tom for some “reworking”. I’ll report when I get them back. The carm mags work so darn well though.

Good luck with backing the hammer off, i actually backed it off similar to my hps and it would not fit in the chassis but actions are actually different as we were talking about the other day with the pic rail height. Different dimensionally anyways. I am going to bring it back down to 1650 - 1750 where it was before and fiddle with the hst. I don't think I will be able to get it as consistent as the HPS due to whats needed to get the speed with the 10.5 inch barrel.
I experienced something very similar when I was detuning my Mini earlier this week. Bringing the reg down to 1250psi and tuning for Crosman 14.3 I found I ended up right on the edge of not being able to attach the lower due to the HS adjustment being further out than normal. I did get it back on with a little shimmy but don't think I could go lower than ~800fps with the 14.3 in this configuration. I am getting around 70 shots per fill in this setup and the 14.3s pulled a few 1/4-1/2" groups @ 45 yards on a very calm day.

Like @Dairyboy has mentioned, if you remove the stock and then put it back on after tuning you can back it off more. I didn't do this however as I found a happy spot with it, 70 shots is crazy and those are great groups at 45 with that ammo!

Are you gonna do the new hammer system? I'm curious how it would work in yours with the tune that low. And yeah mine really likes the CPHPs also. Bet yours is a real sweet shooter tuned that low.

The new hammer system might work better for lower power too. If the springs aren’t as stiff, you wouldn’t have to back out the adjuster as much to lower the power. Also, there’s a possibility someone could design a lighter spring for these evols to allow the lower power guys to be happy. There’s not much work to experimenting with spring rates. The hammer spring is pretty easy to remove too.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot actually, and trying to figure out o n earth it was done.
I think I’ve drawn the conclusion that he tried to remove the magazine without the probe all the way back. This would be a literal force and would apply the force to the weakest part of the probe. It’s the only way I could see causing that damage. Even forcing a pellet during a jam or sticky mag would take a damn hammer against the cocking lever. Forcing a magazine out of the Breech wouldn’t take as much force though, and is totally doable if the schmuck didn’t know what he was doing.

Aw yes! I forgot about that circumstance!👀 I've thought that I had bent a bolt probe doing just that; thankfully I don't yank out my mags😅
