I suspect not, I got my own screws for fixing Gen 1 Thumper rails.

Does anyone know for a fact that the thumper comes with or without a notch in the barrel for the shroud? If I know this, I know if there is in fact, a problem with the gun or if it is just the shroud notch.

my thumper has a notch the full circumference of barrel about 2.5mm wide by 1mm deep

Mine had nothing of the sort. I drilled a 5/32 tiny notch and it seems to be working.
