The American Air Arms EVOL 30 Is Back And Better!

The American Air Arms EVOL 30 PCP air rifle is back and better than ever. It’s in stock now at Airguns of Arizona.

Many Hard Air Magazine readers will be interested to hear that this new EVOL 30 incorporates a “cut rifling” barrel manufactured by Sub-MOA. It’s all about accuracy!

The elegantly-fluted barrel is threaded into a massive lug in the breech block. A chamber insert system is used to ensure the best transition into the rifling.

The Picatinny rail atop the action has an inclination of 25 MOA, for ease of sighting in long-range shooting.

Power output is set at 80Ft/Lbs from the factory, with 35-40 consistent shots available from one fill of the 300cc titanium HPA tube. However up to 100 Ft/Lbs can be achieved if you want to tune the gun appropriately.

Note that this is a pellet gun, being designed to shoot diablos and not slugs.

Importantly, the American Air Arms EVOL 30 PCP air rifle is entirely manufactured in the USA. Every part. Most parts are manufactured in Arizona and the gun is assembled there too!

The buttstock and pistol grip are Mil-spec Magpul components.

The trigger is factory-set for a crisp release at 8 to 10 Oz. There’s also an ambidextrous safety accessibly from both sides of the action.

There’s now an externally-adjustable regulator. This can be adjusted using the screw in the front of the air tube (below). The hammer spring tension can be adjusted also to balance the output.

A forcing cone stripper fits onto to the muzzle to reduce turbulence and the report of the rifle. However, if “backyard friendliness” is a priority, AAA has produced a Moderator adapter with a 1/2 x 20 UNF thread to which a dedicated airgun silencer can be attached. See the photograph below.

Additional 9-shot rotary magazines are also available, if desired.

There’s more information in Jared Clark’s video review below. It’s definitely worth a look!

I noticed a couple people saying how heavy the barrel looks. Maybe I’m in the minority, but that looks tiny to me with that tapered look. I have been wanting the bull barrel version.

This tapered version is supposed to be the Hunter version, right?
Think about this, just about every airgun barrel up to now, in airguns everyone thought were already too heavy, were just 12 to maybe 15mm tubes or the FX soda straw, this barrel is firearm sized. It is huge, comparitively. If you get the full barrel, you'd better get a gym membership too.

7.2 or 7.6 pounds i forgot but in that ball park , the paradigm at 7.8
Really? You have been doing fantastic with your weight lifting and don't know your own strength! I just weighed my Paradigm, it is a laminated stock version and has a Athlon 2-12 helos on it, that's it 10.46lbs.
edit: I didn't read this thread correctly, not doubting you Kevin, and you had the walnut, lighter. the gun feels heavy to me.

Tom had told me the new guns didnt weight that much more but you are loosing the tube around the barrel the nut and the moderator?
she still aint winning any beauty contest
my .30 with the scope is 10.08

I changed out scopes and added the moderator. Here it is on the scale. 11.3 pounds if you can't see the scale. It's raining here so I can't get it out to sight in the scope and start practicing for the next NRL22 match!

The black wasn't available when I got this one. And I lucked out and called AoA on another matter and just asked about the new EVOLS. I got the $2195 one day only special price, so I'm now counting my hatched chickens!
I'm very happy for you that you got a great deal price! Early adopters should catch a break.

All kidding aside, a serious looking machine, looks good with that scope and can on there. Chew some bubble gum to exercise your face muscles because you are going to be hurting from smiling so much. This was and is the only brand of gun that I didn't have to fix anything and shot lights out from the word go.

I was reminded today, again, that accuracy is King. If it actually shoots better than mine, than I could certainly see the beauty beneath. When most people are shooting, all the normal people are actually watching the targets and not staring at the gun. Unless you're a member here, then you're always staring, and having gun beauty contests. I am sometimes guilty too.

It's all good!

164 pounds 405/325/455 ;)

The athlon is heavy for its size too. I also think they weigh the rifles not filled? Air weighs a good bit when compressed

🍻

Awww come on guys! This thing weighs squat! Think about the weight of an M1A National match, or a Garand. 7 to 10lb. Air rifles, to me, are a relief after holding, carrying and practicing with these 2 of mine, just sayin....

I've carried an 26lb M60A1 back in the day, doesn't mean that I want to, or will, carry half of that now, ...just sayin

Now now. It looks like any other testicle (tactical) rifle out there like Impacts, Ghosts, Red Pandas ad infinitum. Like someone raided Ace hardware’s plumbing dept and built rifles. These are all one purpose tools that have no aesthetic appeal.
I think it looks great! In black that is😁....the Ham pictures are clearly of the gun unfinished, that was my point. Give me a wood stock any day, but... I always wanted one black airgun too with not a spec of wood on it. My TX and Ghost are 10+ lbs scoped, easy guns to shoot offhand and hold steady....till my arms give out😆
Man I gotta try a .30 someday!

Yes, you do! Just for the fun of it. I shoot hanging targets and smacking them with this looks awesome. They are also good for the larger problems. I think I have shot more porcupines than anything else, with mine.

Here are some results from the range today. I sighted in the scope at 30 yards first and then shot a group at 50, a group at 100 and a 50 yard NRL22 round. The 50 and 100 yards group were a full clip of 9. There was a 16 mph wind out today with gusts of 26. You will see those results in the targets. I was shooting JTS 45g pellets. So far, the gun is very accurate. The 50 yard NLR22 with that wind and the first time I shot it shows that it seems to have what it takes. Now only if the rifleman was that good!

.22 NRL Target - 50 yards (yes I forgot one and you can see when the wind gusts!)
