Air Venturi continues with their tsunami of new products at the 2025 SHOT Show! The Springfield Armory TRP 1911 Full Auto CO2 Pistol is a full-metal, selective-fire BB model.

The legendary TRP (Tactical Response Pistol) name is synonymous with a high level of performance and the manufacturer says that this replica air pistol is worthy of the legend!

It offers both semi-auto and full-auto firing modes. Regardless of the firing mode, Air Venturi promises a responsive recoil effect feedback with each BB fired, thanks to the full blowback action.

Powered by a single 12 gram CO2 cartridge, this stunning Springfield Armory replica sends BBs downrange at speeds up to 320 FPS.

There’s an 18-round, drop free magazine. Air Venturi says that this offers a realistic heft, and is easy to reload.

Features include an ambidextrous manual safety, functional grip safety, fixed white-dot sights, aggressively textured grips, and a picatinny rail for accessories. This pistol is aimed at use for target practice, plinking, and developing fundamental shooting skills.

But don’t forget the fun factor! Air Venturi says that flipping the selector switch to full-auto gives the TRP a fun factor like no 1911 air pistol you’ve ever seen before :)

It could also be the ideal sidearm to compliment the HAM Gold Award-winning Springfield Armory M1A air rifle!

My carry is Springfield Arms Garrison 1911 in 9ml. Love the weapon except that the trigger remains a pretty tough pull . . . definitely affects aim. I also have a Colt 1911, but that's just for the memories of 60 or so years ago. This pistol looks like it could be fun, as fun as BB guns might be, that is. Orv.

The first gun I ever shot was my Dad's service Colt 1911 when I was 5, he helped me hold it, on my Grandpa's farm. I've been in love with 1911s ever since. I believe I have 14 BB CO2 Blowback 1911s and 7 powder burners. Favorite is my Colt Commander in .45, smooth as silk. We can't buy new Colt 1911s in Commie California anymore! The ATI GSG .22 1911s are probably the most pleasurable to shoot, inexpensive, same controls, high quality German workmanship. This offering from AV is definitely a must for my collection.

I like it but give me 400+ fps please.
This HAM article is old - and yes it could do with updating - but the principal is still valid...

Given the (relatively) fixed amount of power in one CO2 cartridge, designers make a balance between muzzle velocity, shot count and blowback effect.

To obtain a decent shot count and combine this with a relatively strong blowback, the maximum muzzle velocity obtainable is around 350 FPS - at least in our 65 degree F average test environment.

As the muzzle velocity of CO2 guns changes by about 2 FPS per degree F change, your 400 FPS IS attainable, together with a strong blowback and decent shot count. But only at an ambient temperature of about 90 degrees.
