EVOL So about that banner...American Air Arms

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing! Full Arca-Swiss rail but what's at the end, on front of the air cylinder? Is that an actual carbon fiber shroud or just a wrap? Enquiring minds want to know.

I bet it doesn't hold up like the one it clearly is imitating, that action looks IDENTICAL!,
The Epic action only looks identical; it's made from 6063 NOT 7075 like the Evol. No titanium air cylinder either. So it can't be as rugged, it's just not in its design to be. The big question mark for me is the balanced valve, which have always had one problem or another; sticktion, difficult to service, hard to tune. It is supposedly Bob Sterne's design so it has a good chance to be awesome. I still like the design philosophy behind AAA better, absolute toughness.

I thought in one of Tom’s videos, he says the evol has a balanced valve. They seem to be pretty rugged in his guns. Why is everyone else having such issues?

There will be a lot info coming out on balance valves in the near future when we release the new EVOL HPS.

To avoid any confusion, the standard EVOL and the discontinued HPS 22 do not utilize a balance valve.

There is a clear delineation when a balance valve begins to provide benefits over its extra complexity. The Slayer and New HPS are well into the benefit column of the equation.
