Notos New to HAM and Airsystems but an old gun guy

Buckets stuffed with old jeans do me on the cheap and does all I ask of them as a trap .
View attachment 6612

I got a cut out plastic 55gallon drum I like as well at the 100y spot ..

A guy at agn made some nice plastic drum ones up with good pictures of them to look at ..

(The link ...
65 gal pickle barrels and FT/EFT targets. )

When you got fresh barrels to start that make up nice traps / backstops ..
Looks perfect ! Thanks !!!

Simple, outdoor capable and easy to move with a dolly/dump bed cart.

I will keep my eyes open for one around my area.

Thanks again !

They really don't weigh much depending on thickness.

Plenty for sale around . Like for example check thrift nickel want add or Facebook want ads in your local area

Like guy here asking $10 for 55gal..

I sure will be checking around. The only problem with getting a big blue 55gallon is the wife may think I am going to do some Drew Petersen stuff. :ROFLMAO: kidding !!

The black looks good . No one has them here local I found .. I easy got blue or white ones around here all day long ...

I like maybe the smaller sized like the 25- 35 gal . 55 works great but maybe the smaller is more practical ( to clean or move around . ). I hate to think I'm that bad a shot I need 55 gal over a 25 gallon

Heck regardless at 10-15$ for a good solid plastic barrel what can you say. Right?

anyway , the 55 sized was a good fit at the 100 y spot I use the 5 gallon buckets at the rest.

I was contemplating on using it for higher pistol and rifle caliber at some point as well. I think the 55 should be good for just about anything if I fill it with rubber mulch, and use a good backstop. Maybe thats a plan for another day, as I just want to get this dialed in. I got an armadillo wrecking my yard with gopher sized holes.

Fl22's cardboard box trap here in post #555. Is quick and easy to make up to dial one in in a pinch .. I'd just stuff it with of cloths / folded blue jeans works / what's in mine or whatever as a fill .. then go shoot it up ..

Awesome and thank you all for the advice. I definetly will be working on one today and will let you know how it goes.

Glad I got to chat with many of you over airgun stuff. Looking forward to more conversations !!

Stay safe and shoot straight.;)

Due to my recent experiences with leaks, I humbly suggest a 72h pressure test. 😁

So far, its now been about 64 hours and its been holding roughly at my initial air I added now at 2250psi.

Does the tank lose air over longer periods of time?

My Origin and Airacuda are rock solid after the gauge settles down after the fill. You are probably good. 👍

You’re good. Don’t sweat it. A leak in 60 something hours on a little air tank would’ve shown a huge drop. Notos is an excellent gun I’ve had two neither had leaks or issues and were very accurate

I would like to say, where has this been all my life? ?

Wow. I have been shooting most of my life. This little air rifle is amazing to say the least.

Out of the box accurate and after a few familiarization and zeroing, I got my groove back.

To Nasty, Thanks. I did the box of cardboard and filled it front to back. Worked perfect at catching everything it needed to. Couple did make it through on the thin end, but no biggie. I will be working on a better trap in the future.

FL22: No issues with tank loss, I did one tank fill halfway through my session. I only did 6 or 7 groups of three's. Got it zeroed to 25yrd for now. Very pleased with my groups.

Thank you again everyone !! Enjoy the pics !

I must give a shout out to HAM for doing the write up and making the choice of starter pellets easy.

Without a doubt, great shooter.

I will be giving it a little scrub tommrow. Stupid question, but is it okay to clean from the muzzle down on air guns? I have NEVER done that on any pistol/rifle except revolvers. And even then Im pretty carefull.

I think my 25 yard group is under half inch. Maybe a little less, but I used those shoot-n-see dots (1 inch) for reference

Am I ready for some competition? LOL kidding, Im old. ;):D

Your correct sir ! Holy cow, so happy I choose this one. I bet with some tweaking you can get this to be near olympic status. Well, maybe not that, but close enough. Im no skier......lol

And it’s only the beginning 👍

Soon you’ll have a collection 😁.

I just purchased my first springer, it will be here Friday. I have a lot to learn about it, thankfully we have a great community here.

When you’re ready post some of your targets here,

It’s not competitive or anything. At least I don’t treat it that way, more of a “here it is, the good, bad and ugly”.

LOL kidding, Im old. ;):D
Well sir pcps (both of mine) are a PAIN to clean if you don't have the pull through cord kits! I like to start on the breech and work to the bore, careful with those o-rings. This pushes the lube and any filings out and down through the bore. And I'm sure you know... but no petroleum products!
