.177. Trying to get it down to sub 12

Ouu grab a spring kit, The best way to go about it for sure! Lowering reg alone is not a great way to go about it. Your shot count will be stellar

Yeah that's normal when u start dipping that low on power for sure, not to worry. The gun was very much built to be a beast (regardless of caliber!) If you get a chance, do glance through @Franklink extensive deep dive into the Ghost platform on Ham/Airgun Nation. It was beyond helpful to me and many others. You'll just need to wade through all the .20 cal info that's not super relevant to all the rest of us

I've heard it said many times it's the best of both worlds (.177 and .22) I definitely wouldn't say no to a .20 springer! Pcp....I'll stick with both my .22s

Yep, It’s normal to have little to no change with the power wheel at those low reg sets, Franklink and Derrick (ZX10 Wall) could probably elaborate more on the why.
With low reg pressure the power limiting factor is the low reg pressure. Doesnt matter if you hit the valve harder (via hammer strike) to open it more. That particular pressure is not capable of pushing that particular projectile faster.
When you increase the reg pressure you shift the power limiting factor to the hammer strike, which CAN be adjusted via the hammer spring tension (or with a different hammer spring altogether).

Makes sense. I was thinking I could possibly set the pressure higher and tune to a lower velocity with the hammer but that didn’t work so I have had to tune solely with the regulator

I am curious about where the wheel was when you started. I had initially turned my HP by setting the wheel in the middle, and then working my reg pressure up until I got the velocity/accuracy about where I wanted it, and fine tuned with the wheel. I was a bit above the sweet spot of 135-140 I was told that they were designed around, so I reduced it, and the retuned with the wheel. Hope that there is something in there that may help.

I’m tuning a Plus to Sub 12. I had to bring my regular Dow to about 65. When you get the reg that low it doesn’t matter where the heel is set to. I would agree. If you are tuning to sub 20 or above your procedure would seem like the way to go

Ok Im following you. It seems that I recall reading something that the wheels don't do much on sub 12 guns. I think that you've found out why.
