Others New drs tactical mk2

Well i have hammers headed my way from everyone now. Fx just sent me a bill and then sent tracking from cali. Shot a bunch of different weight zan today all shot pretty well. Shot some 40 gr air marksman today to 850 fps on current tune.

Oh i didn’t shoot them outside shot inside to get muzzle velocity. Want to see what the hammers are going to do. Im hoping to get 33 to 950 and the 40 to 900. The 40’s are a pain to load they are as long as the opening so i have to take my single shot loader out load it while closed and put it back in to be able to shoot them. If i get them to 900 though that would be almost 72 fpe which i think is all you could get without going to that tungsten hammer and 170 or so bar and beat up the valve.

Oh i made a boo boo on shot count i must have added air when i got that shot count of 40. I just did it again and its 30 shots to a fill on current settings. And the mki spring is not needed for 125 bar. We will see what a 12 gram hammer does with this tune.

Well got hammers and springs. Tried some changes up to 135 bar 12 and 13 gr hammer and a shorter stiffer hammer spring and had a total gain of 10-15 fps which i didn’t feel was really worth lower shot count so im back to where i was 33 at 900. Oh well

That’s disappointing. So much for 40 grains. How do you like it otherwise? Recommend, Keeper, or okay?
Yea ya know even the expensive fx guns have trouble pushing the 40 to real high velocity. I would say that it depends on what your looking for. Want a light accurate slug slinger for 200 yds and less that handles like a 22 lr its your ticket. Want to try to push 40 grain over 1000 fps get a m4 that is heavier and more compact. But remember a40 gr at 1000 has .4 wind drift at 100 yds with a 2 mph breeze. The 33 in the same wind at 905 fps has .6 drift is it really worth a heavier gun that costs almost twice as much shoting more expensive ammo to gain .2 in a 2 mph breeze? In a 10 mph wind its 3.6 for the 33 2.4 for the 40. Thats up to you but for me and where i live 100 yds is a long shot cause of trees etc. so im good with it.
Oh just so you know the 40 at 850 FPS in 2 mph drifts .3 at 100
You have to remember too that you don’t always get advertised bc. Im usind 1.2 for the 33 and .2 for the 40 and the new zan boat tail hollow point 33 claims .17 at 930 fps. I just got some but only shot for velocity which is same as air marksman.

You have to remember all the you tubers are trying to sell new guns and if you want to give your cash away every year on a new gun the only person that can stop you is you——or your wife!😂😂😂

As pumacarl has found hes shooting h&n as they have a decent bc and shoot well. Not always does the highest bc slug shoot well out of a particular gun

Something else i should mention. I originally went for the tactical because of how solidly it was built and it had a larger plenum than the classic, there wasno extra chassis to buy or anything else for that matter i did add a stock for better use from bench. It was also half the price of the cheapest blackwolf and now that i have 2 i have probably 90 % of what the bw can do with 2 barrels! Mine are set no need to make changes. 1 for squirrels and 1 for playing at long shots. I think thats better

Food for thought. Thank you for the knowledge. I was thinking of the Tactical with the bottle or Redline and add the larger plenum. Like you say, trying to sling 40 grain slugs on hopes and dreams is not worth it over good and great 33 grainers.

Moot point, anyway. Currently back ordered.

Ya its easy to get caught up in this stuff since things have really changed the last couple years. I believe the classic now has the same size plenum but you don’t get a arca rail. If you don’t mind your face on the bottle that should give a big shot count and decent power.
