IT'S ALIVE!! A big thank you to Roamin Geco 1 and Mike Baker. Roamin pointed me to Mark and Mark provided me with the part I needed. I did as Mark said, I did 25 dry fires before installing the co2. It was a very nervous moment, I pierced the cartridge, no leaks. After about 50 years in storage, it is now functional. I did a crono, about 12" from crono. Results: H&N Baracuda 15, 15.89 gr, 405.4 FPS, 5.8 FPE. I can turn the hammer spring screw in a little more to get higher results.I only shot 5 pellets, later I'll do a 10 shot at a target and I'll post the results. Here ar the pics of the pistol and the 2 mods that I did.

Here is the target. Keep in mind that I'm not an open sight person. Sight adjustment is wacky. I used the Baracuda 15 to sight in. I had to remove the elevation adj. screw in order to get it to shoot low enough and the windage adj. is way far right.. The 10 shot test was withe the H&N excite 13 gr ( lightest .22 I have ) I put a 3" sticker target in center and a 1" sticker in middle (2 of the shots blew the center sticker off). Overall not great group but not real bad either for a 50+ yo pistol. I've had worse group with a break barrel. If I remember correctly the FPS is about the same as I got with ny Diana Chaser c02.

Bill, I'm so happy it worked out for you. Try RWS Meisterkugeln. They come in .22. See my pic posted above. Let me tell you some things I learned about my own Mark I and IIs:

Did you clean the barrel when you had this gal apart? I use JB Non-embedding Bore Paste on a bronze brush, 10 strokes each way. You can feel the barrel getting polished!

Then use the "6 o'clock" hold. The point of aim is the bottom edge of the black bull with sights adjusted so that the point of impact goes to the center of the bull.

Finally, for pellet testing, lay your wrist on a sandbag for stability. Then try moving the hammer spring screw in 1/4 increments. You can "tune" these pistols somewhat. Also, the trigger release is a bit different on low vs high power cocking settings. Do some dry firing between CO² carts to see which you prefer.

Finally, are you a lefty? Why did you file down the thumb shelf? If so, look around for either a replacement left hand grip panel or a set of wood replacement grips. There are folks out there who make them for about $60 or so.

Thanks for all the tips. I did not clean the barrel,but will. I did shoot the meister flat and if I remember correctly they gave me the highest FPS. Yes I am a lefty and fileting down the thumb rest made it more comfortable. Right now my shooting is at a stand still for my indoor range. 2 days ago I took in a cat that came from a not so good environment. I already have 2 cats. The new one is hiding in the basement most of the, I'm slowly gaining his trust so I cant shoot in fear of scaring him more. Thanks again for the tips.
