I got a question to throw out there. I have a Crosman Mark 1 co2 pistol. I've had it since I was around 10yo. At some point I put it away (it was working when I put it away). Was packed away for about 50 years. I got it out about a year ago. After piercing the co2, it all leaked out through the barrel. I did some research and found that it is the most common problem with the Mark 1 and the least availably part. I think it is called the poppit valve pin seal. It is the part that the hammer hits and opens the valve to let air through. Here is my question: Does any one know if the pin seal from the 2240 will work in the Mark 1 ?

I don't know about the pin seal cross over but I remember Tom Gaylord recommending the use of auto trans conditioner in a can to help with co2 problems. It reconditions the seals. May not be a permanent fix but might be useful temporarily.

I have a O ring kit for the pistol but it is only the O rings an not the pin seal. Thanks for that suggestion. I'm going to look into tha valve for the 4470, If it looks right and isn't too expensive, I just might try it

Contact Mike Baker at peter_built78@hotmail.com. Find the part number for the valve stem. He will send you one, and may request that you send him yours back. There is a precise technique for resealing that valve stem. I have resealed several Mark I and II pistols. Worth it to get those valve stems.

Also check out the series on resealing them in the Pyramyd Air Blog.

Thank yo for that. The link does not work. I tried copy/paste but when I tried to send an email, I got a message that it did not exist.

Try typing it in from scratch, and don't forget the underscore. Mr. Baker has some used airguns for sale on a competing American airguns auction site, so I know that's his email address. I'll try to email him as well and direct him to you. He's a good man to do business with.

I emailed Mr. Baker and made contact. He said he reached out to you. Good luck. Let us know how it works out. I love giving those old pistols new life. Here's one I did with parts from Mr. Baker.

I will definitely post the results. Tomorrow i'm going to take the gun apart and take a picture of what I need and send it to him. I might be wrong about the part I need but I'm sure he can help me.

Thank you Roamin Greco 1 and all who helped. I talked to Mike Baker on the phone this morning and I am happy to say that the new and improved exhaust valve I needed is being put in the mail today. Can't wait to get my childhood co2 pistol working again.
Bill
You are welcome. I'm glad I could be helpful.

He e-mailed me last night asking for my phone number. This morning I sent him a picture of my valve assembly and the pin/seal that I need.

This is the Crosman 150 I just resealed with parts from Mike Baker. I bought a complete valve assembly and internal bits for another 150 valve. I wish I could find a complete hammer assembly, but apparently that part is getting very difficult to source.

Nice. When I get that exhaust valve in and get my Mark 1 working it won't be facturer perfect. First, the trigger safety lever broke when I took the gun apart for the first time, it broke in half . The next thing I did was grind off some of the ridge for the thumb rest. I'm left handed and the grips are right handed with a large area for the right thumb to rest on. The last thing I did was filed a grove in the bolt guide so the bolt could be removed. The factory setup, you could only pull the bolt back so far and part of it protruded in the breach where you put the pellet. The reason for my mod was because I worked in a machine shop for about a month or so and I had access to a small multi tool metal lath. I made 3/4" brass darts. I only had time to make 10 of them. The accuracy wasn't all that good if I remember correctly, wasn't worth the time it took to make them. I don't remember what happened to those darts Any way, when I get it working again I'll post pictures here.

You probably have these diagrams already, but just in case. I have a MK1 that needs to be resealed. Next project after the 357. Love this hobby!

Thank you. I did download the parts list and the break down image. Your breakdown image is clearer than what I have. The second break down image that has the number 2 on it, I believe is the newer model. My model uses a lever to puncture the cylinder.

I'm seriously thinking about having Tim of MAC1 perform his magic on my MK1. He makes them look amazing and shoot even better.

Here's the 357 I was mentioning. This is the silver brass barrel with metal barrel shroud edition. The 8-inch barrel makes it easy to shoot accurately. I just replaced the complete valve assembly, Mike Baker, and a couple wear parts.
