Here is a screen shot from some 40 grain slugs. They were really slow, but at 20 feet they were a single hole. Lol

You should have been getting about 840 fps. With your set up. You said you were shooting 34 grain javelins at 900 fps. Rule of thumb is 10fps per grain so 60 fps minus 900 fps is 840 fps.

I didn't adjust the hammer spring to get max speed. I had it set where it was shooting the 25 gr best. I could have upped the tension for sure.

Ok I did some more shooting yesterday with some of the Corbin X Punch slugs fron 28gr, 29gr, and 30 grains. Of course at 50 yards everything is a single hole ranging is speeds from 930 fps to 880 fps. The most shocking thing is that the standard deviation was under 5 for all of them! These Corbin presses are able to get some STUPID consistent slugs. I did reach out to UA and asked them what their shooters are using with their HM1000X rifles and I was told they are finding great results with the H&N 218 slugs.

This is the barrel that is on my rifle currently, so there is no reason why a 218 shouldn't work in the gun. I have been talking with Martin as well to get more information about the rifle he built for me. I am waiting to hear what the regulator is set at currently. With the 25 grain KnockOuts I am getting an easy 970 fps and some "ok" accuracy. I am sure there is more there that can be squeaked out with a few adjustments and fine tuning.

With all of the things I have going for the rifle I need to break things down and take things slow and only change one thing at a time and not 4, 5 and 6 things. Since I got the rifle I have only added the extended plenum to the rifle. The other "options" I have for the rifle is a muzzle break from APW, tunable muzzle break from Eagle Vision, DonnyFl Ryu, DonnyFl Yokozuna, Impulse Air 1200, Impulse Air 1350, and a few others. I am looking at getting an easier to adjust regulator to really fine tune what the rifle is doing.

I have been able to find a few really good nodes with each of the units on the rifle. So I need to find one and stick with it and then really fine tune the rifle to spit out the decided slug. My main reason for the rifle is for NRL22 but also want to get the rifle out on a prairie dog town or other critters that I can set up for in a hide. So quite a few different things that I would like to use the rifle for.

So lets hope I get lucky quickly and get down to shooting much MUCH more.

You are using the MPA chassis right? Are you using the stock 480cc barrel to? If so can you please post a picture with the extended plenum so I can see how far the bottle sticks out and just how it looks in general. I'm thinking of ordering the plenum and having martin tune it with the plenum, I really dont want to remove the extended spiget or whatever it's called, the extended picatinny rail. I know I will have to remove it to fit the bottle. I just wana see wat it's gonna look like please.

How many cc's is it ? And how many more fps did you get out of it when shooting the same grain with both set ups ?

I was comfortably shooting the 25 grain Ko's at 960ish. With the added plenum of 20cc's, I believe, I was able to back down the hammer spring and achieve the same power. I can bump it up and see what happens, but a few days ago I was able to push them over 1000 with no issues.

With the new plenum on the rifle I am able to push the 218 30 grain slugs at 1000fps. I have things turned down to shoot them at 950fps and am able to easily hit a 1" target at 100 yards.

I am going to be working on shooting and doing some fine tuning. The next match is the 7th of July and I am hoping to get there to shoot. I have the camera mount on my scope so I will see if I can't get the match on video. You guys should go out and give it a shot. It really is fun and a great way to get new people into the airgun hobby.

Some groups of different 30 grain slugs. The second page is at 100 yards and I was fine tuning velocities. The last picture is of a full magazine at 50 yards of the H&N, JAVELIN, AND CORBIN 218 30grain slugs. Then moved to 100 yards and produced the group shown. The red x was my sighter, adjusted scope and sent 3 rounds. I had another page that produced the same group with all three ammo selections.

The 30 grain slugs were going 950 fps!

To say I am happy is an understatement!!

Just took the rifle out to my local NRL22 match and did ok, though I do need more practice setting up positions with the rifle. Was middle of the pack with the RAW and honestly for the 2nd match I don't think that was to bad. Have more work to do with tuning and getting things dialed in even more.

Right now I have the rifle still at the 950fps and shooting the 30 grain 218 H&N 30 grain slugs. Cleared the Troop Line stage with targets from 60 out to 100, then 100 back to 60 yards. Was able to clear the stage with a full minute left on the timer! Able to blow through that stage and had a blast. The first two kicked my backside, as the ladder on the saw horse and chair, I was using my bag attached to the rifle and I was to high and unable to get a good position. Attempted to remove the bag but it was costing me time and I just went with it. And ultimately it cost me a few rounds.

Over all a good morning and was fun shooting with my son again.

Well here I go again on another journey.......

I have my HM1000X from Martin and I have been playing with it for a week now. I have come to the conclusion that the 217 JSB KnockOut slugs shoot great at 970 fps. I have a few other slugs to play with, as well as the slugs my buddy is making me from his Corbin Press. I am loving the MPA chassis for this rifle, as the fit and finish is top level as well is the adjustability. So far the rifle has been great, and I am hoping to see how the rifle will shoot on sunday at a local match.

So I am looking at different modifications or upgrades to the rifle. I have a muzzle break on the rifle right now, as well as an Eagle Vision tunable muzzle break. I am planning on trying a few different cans on the end to see if they make any different. As I was looking around instagram I saw a post about a plenum for the rifle that helps with shooting heavier slugs. And this got me to thinking about other modifications and or upgrades that can be done with the rifle.

Aside from upping the bottle to a 700cc or anything like that I am not sure what else to do to the rifle.

I have 20 different slug designs and weights of slugs. Hoping to hit the range tomorrow to get some more velocities as well as some groupings at 50, 75, and 100 yards.

What else do you guys want to see or are questioning about the rifle?

Just leave it alone and shoot it, now that you've found a slug that it likes. Now see if you can develop your marksmanship.

Oh yeah it shoots and it's fun...I just need to remember to tune the rifle back to the 30gr slugs after playing with heavier boat tail slugs. I blew a few stages during my last match due to the rifle shooting 50 fps faster than what I had the calculator set for.....lol
