Gunsmithing tools

Holy cow with the O rings, wrenches, snap ring plyers and the O ring hooks I just spent over 400 $$$$\
O well if I fix one gun its worth it, No one ever said this is a cheap sport to get into....
But it sure is fun,,
What sport is cheap? Have you ever priced top quality golf balls? $25-50+ per dozen, then you hit them into the pond for the gators to eat.

I really like this post, it was a great idea, and should probably be stickied. It actually got me to look at my stuff and got me to order several different brass and plastic picks. I only had stainless steel before and had to be too careful. I had actually started to just use floss to get out some orings instead of taking a chance at damage but that wasn't working with internal orings so I set the deficiency straight now. I thought about not getting them too, because all my guns lately are just shooting awesome, but that never lasts either. It's important to be ready, to keep down time to a minimum, especially in states with long winters and wet springs. We have a relatively short window for pleasant shooting weather so I don't want to waste any of it.

It would seem to be a whole lot easier to lock the thread from further replies and just leave it for people to search to? I access mostly from my smart tv, not a computer, so I won't be doing many editing tasks. It just seems that someone is always asking the question and this thread has good answers.

I dont mind sticking the thread but there a lot of chit chat that doesnt relate maybe.
let me think on it and if I get a chance I will se what I can do.
I dont want to lock it because other tools might come u that maybe art a nesesety for all but good for some us to have?
I just picked up some hex and star drive stuff with 14" hex drive and a 1/4" drive to 1/4" for use with my inch lb torque wrench most wouldn't need em but I had I had to have em.

I am going to stick it for now but my plan will be just to make up a absolutely need a really should have and a want its useful list and lock it the you guys and or gals can post on this thread as we move forward or pm me and I will make updates for now I am swamp so you all may have to remind me a bit later down the road.

I've been looking at the Fix-It Sticks toolkits. It's beyond overwhelming when you go to their website how many different kits they have. Would you go with the variable torque wrench or the individual bits, etc.

I have an inch lbs torque wrench and just use the bit or socket or what have I need.
but I have several torque wrench in the shop so I am not the norm most likely
Ibut if it was me I would buy a torque wrench and an Allen bit selection.
curious what other have to say on the topic

I have this 1 and only have added a 1.5 and a 2 long reach to adjust the trigger and find it very useful. Oh i carry a small level too.
I have the all-in-one-torque kit with the bubble levels too. Really handy. This kit, along with my green laser, makes no-zero-loss scope swaps and mounting a snap!

Go with the variable, less to keep track of, and if you do want to go a little tighter you will know how much tighter you went.
