FX DRS New Wood Stock Design Development

I have been working on a new stock for my FX DRS for a while as time as allowed. Getting closer to making wood chips on it. One of my development steps is printing the stock design and checking ergonomics and appearance before I CNC program and cut wood. Because of printer size limits the PLA stock is printed in sections and just glued together. It works for what I need it to do.

CAD model.

It looks really good and practical especially if using a rear bag. I think with the bottom of the butt stock having all that wood that I would put an off-hand notch there to pull in the stock to my shoulder. I am not sure of the actual name for that design feature. Great job as is though, and you get to make it fit yourself perfectly, which is awesome!

I know what you are talking about for the off hand butt grip. I plan on developing a couple of other designs for this rifle, so maybe in a future design.

Yes, I could 3D print a fully functional CF composite stock and "permanently" bond it together using pins at the joints. I actually have printed pins and holes at the joints for alignment. The tech is really awesome.

For a full synthetic you could make the bottom foregrip flat too, so you could just screw on a full length Arca Swiss plate very easily. The world is your oyster with that technology. I am really curious to see your final results. Nice work!
Thanks,

The forearm is flat and I will inlet and install a flush M-lok panel on the bottom. Then all kinds of things can be mounted to it.

Loren, you ever kicked around the idea of making a stock like that, with the fake mag, for the M1a that's on the market? Even in the printed poly, I bet those would really be hot. You sir, are an airgun artist!
Thanks Jim,

You talking about this one?

Stephen, Are the actions pretty much all metal on the rifle? I have been tempted by the rifle before, because I have a CF version and a CF M1. How are the iron sights? Do they hold a candle to the CF rifles?

Thanks for sharing!
Yes most all of this air rifle is manufactured from metal. Dunno about the iron - actually plastic - open sights as I can't use them with my glasses.
