Ghost Ghost is inbound to my house * FIGURED OUT THE ACCURACY ISSUE!!!!!!! *

Have been only shooting like 10 yards with the random pellets I have. Really playing until I can get a 22 barrel.

But will try this weekend to atleast get a zero and see what the rifle can do. I guess Derek Wall had the gun, and did a full tune on it. Though there is no paperwork with it, so can't say one way or the other.
You should know at first trigger pull. Factory trigger is Heavy. I had the .30 Ghost very briefly and wasn’t a great fit for me.

The trigger is a little heavy, nothing near as crisp and light as my hm1000x.....but this is a hunting rifle. I wasn't expecting a glorious trigger, but it is about on par with the trigger from my EdGun R5M

Who knows maybe he did some magic on the trigger! I believe @Pesty3782 (and probably others) have sung his praises on his work to the 👻 trigger units. Mine is good enough so no complaints on that! 10Y with a .30 cal...no comment😌 Michigan Airgunner had a good video on some hunting with a .30cal 👻 and I remember he was saying his was great with slugs....do you know the twist rate on the .30 Brk barrel?
Twist rate I don't know, but I can find out!

Still holding out for the Sub-MOA barrel for the rifle. 30 is just to large for plinking. Lol

If anyone wants to try a 30 let me know 😉

Yup, she was an early birthday present, and I am getting her all set up now.

Can't wait to really start shooting and having fun. Have just set up the scope and have the side shot on and ready to go. Now to sight in and see what this gal can do against critters.

Pellets from jsb, fx, and zan.
Speeds from min-790 to max-980

So a good range of speeds from the rifle, but from all of them past 50 yards they spiral extremely bad.

Going to give the barrel a good cleaning and try again. I have more pellets coming from Utah, so more testing.......REALLY want that 22 barrel. Lol

The consistency of the rifle is there for the valving and the regulator. The numbers across all the weights of pellets were amazing....it's just the darn corkscrewing.

Give the barrel a polish they used to do that i think but recently everyone says they shoot better after a polish.

I will take a look at that. Because honestly after shooting today I was quite upset.

I do have to laugh a little as the individual I traded with already has the AAA for sale on AGN. And his add is a little iffy as well with saying it was shooting slugs quite accurately. So that has me thinking when he said the same about this ghost that it may have been a stretch possibly. I may reach out to the tuner as well and see if he actually did a tune on the rifle for the guy.

I looked at that AAA and have been teetering as to rather I want to get it or just keep holding out.
I think with the new guns coming it might not go for what he wants?
if I hand money to burn I would get it.

That is what I was thinking. I am wanting one of the new rifles as well, and knew that when they come out the older ones will not sell quick.

I do like the Ghost overall, super smooth and a joy to shoot. I just need to get it shooting correct with the 30 cal pellets. I will play more with it when I get more ammo in next week. I did just get done cleaning it and the barrel was a mess, and I am hoping that was the reason she wasn't shooting well.

I definitely did the whole polishing regimen on my Ghost and boy it's improved. It was accurate outta the box but it would tank fast after a bit of shooting (like 100pellets max). I'd clean it, good for 1 week maybe, and flyers everywhere again. The last straw was when i put my $3k 👻 up against my .177 TX springer @ 50Y, both with their fav pellet and it freaking lost!🤣 That blows me away that it was great at 50 and fell apart at 100Y?! Mine will keep it together like glue to 80Y but last week at 100 it opened up to 3.5 inches if I recall? How bad is bad for your group lol? Maybe try 75Y next and see how that is... I kept 10 Mrds inside 3.5 inches so not bad anyways for .22 pellets!? Slugs should destroy that. That's quite a range of speeds you tried...strange results, @Northeastbeast had a .30cal 👻 with a buggered barrel I remember, forget what he ended up doing to remedy that, maybe look at his posts?

I ended up having the barrel recrowned and polished the crap out of it and it was Night and day. I was moa at 100 after. Shooting jsb 44.8gn at 960fps

I was talking with AOA today and they suggested the same thing. So planning on stopping by my gun shop tomorrow and grab some paste and give it a go. I guess I really can't get much worse so I have nothing to loose.

AOA was shocked that I was getting such horrible groups with the 30, being as they are typically solid shooters.

Don't be shy polishing that barrel! When you think your done give it some more polishing😅 Got 3 guns with L. W. barrels and I swear Air Arms spends some time polishing them or something on their guns before shipping em out. I clean my TX and S510 because I want to or bc I'm curious, never because I have to. Mind you, they both shoot a good 75-100fps slower than the 👻 🤷‍♂️

Well just got off of AOA's site.... and that was expensive!

Have the Arca rail for some bottle protection, as well as the ability to use my accessories
The spring tuning kit that you guys have all suggested
As well as the PRS bag rider as well.

I am still talking with Tracy as well over at Sub-MOA about barrels. For the ghost she is looking at around 60 days until the barrels for the ghost are out. I think I can wait that long for a barrel, so wait I will do.
Can't wait to hear and see your results when the Sub MOA barrel comes in and you get it installed. Be there by Christmas it sounds like. Merry Christmas to you!
