Panthera Fx King is in the house! yeah I know ......

FINALLY!!!! My 3 mags are in the house and ready to go. Of course coming from Orion they are top notch and look great, and they function as they should. And now of course my wife and kids will be getting home soon so no range day today, and tomorrow I have a few appointments I need to get to as well as my son having trap. Maybe Wednesday after work I will be able to swing by quickly, if not Thursday for sure.

Lol i feel you there. Haven't shot my RAW mini much yet due to its been windy and work busy and behind on yard work. Now kids start soccer today every Monday and Wednesday evening. Always something. But glad your mags came in!

Well I was able to get out and do a little over an hour of shooting.

Was able to shoot from 30 grain slugs up to the 40 grain ACE slugs. The ACE slugs looked to be a little bit to heavy, where as the lighter weight 30-34 grain slugs were shooting great. Now they were all shooting great groups at 50 yards but the lighter weight slugs were pushing 980 fps where as the 40 grain slugs were struggling to get 900 fps. I ended up pushing the regulator up to 150 bar and the setting maxed out. While the heavier slugs were able to get some decent speeds, but the rifle was working hard to push the speeds.

So planning on cleaning things and getting some 30-34 grain slugs to push them around the 920 fps range. As long as I can get the groupings to stay the same out at 100 yards then I will be happy. So far happy with the way things are going and am excited to keep going.

I have some 33.5 grain dish base hollow point slugs made up that I am going to try next time. Doing some reading around the web these seem to be a good medium slug weight. So going to see if I can't get these pushing around the 950ish fps and get some good accuracy. Really don't want to push the gun to much and damage anything, and also have a decent shot count.

Ok took the 30 grain and 33.5 grain slugs to the range today. Started off with the regulator at 110 BAR and ended on around 135 BAR. With the micro wheel at 3.5 or so. Got the slugs shooting a comfortable 930 fps and getting a ragged hole at 50 yards, pushed the target out to 100 yards and group is just under an inch. After some fun shooting at 100 yards, I brought the target into 25 yards to see what happens. And with no real surprise the group is one nasty hole. So this seems like a decent tune for the rifle, and am going to keep playing with this.

Now when the wind dies down, and weather warms up a bit I will hit the outdoor range and shoot steel at different distances. This will also let me set up the KYL rack and do some shooting there at 40 - 50 yards. This is typically where these racks are when shooting the NRL22 matches.

Grouping at 50 yards with the 33.5 grain Corbin dish base hollow point slugs.
