Panthera FX Bull barrel for Panthera

Hate to say this but the King in ST chasis is a lot nicer than the Benckmark in that stupid ugly stock, I know the stock on the Bechmark is for 100 yard bench rest. If I were to do it over I would purchase the Benchmark , scap the Benchmark stock, put the Mk 2 .30 action in a ST chasis , with long bottom rail 700 cc bottle . . Then I would I have a LIGIT 100 yard bench rifle & a hunting rifle , that would be duel purpose. Your wording is offf. I was referring when I owned the King, I took it out of the GRS stock, & put it in the ST chasis. FX calls it the King because it action was in a GRS stock, did you forget that ? Essentially the MK 2 Dynamic block is the upgraded action version with improved trigger. I was referring to my MK 1 King to compare it to the UGLY Benchmark. I rather have in my opinion a DUEL purpose rifle, not have a 100 yard bench rifle . Don't forget FX is great @ marketing, that's why the came out with the Benchmark, so people say OOH I have to get this! .
You’re missing the point that the Benchmark is a very specific niche rifle. It’s designed for “free recoil” benchrest shooting where there is almost no contact with the rifle. They sit behind the rifle, not at the side of it. These style of stocks are dominating European benchrest shooting. I haven’t forgotten what makes a King a King. That’s what why your post was confusing me a little. “If I When I tell you it would blow away the new Fx Bench Mark. That rifle was a game changer. That's why the Panthera better be a true performer .” I took that to mean you were implying it was ballistically superior, when in actuality the stock/chassis of the King is an aesthetic difference. FX is definitely into marketing, but the MKII Dynamic block and trigger assembly is definitely superior to the original Dynamic.

I still woudldn't purchase the Benchmark even if I were shooting 100 yard bench rest. This is my opinion , certainly , but the Benchmark is not my cup of Joe If it were to be free recoil why are they adding weights in the buttstock. I don't like that stock, it is not proven yet, It's for marketing @ this point Or better yet go & purchase it & test it out They should of made that stock in a 1 piece aluminum stock , like a Thomas. Then it would of been appealing Even what you said about sitting behind the rifle , no . one is even doing that ? They are all sitting with their rig to the left or right of themselves. I am not missing anything , you are what seems to myself are defending FX. I see it @ face value, I am not partial to one maufacturer to another. I happen to own some of the best airfiles out their . Thomas, Daystate , Raw, Fx American Air Arms. I said it before, & I will say it again , I only keep the ones that are true performers. They have a job to do & they have to do it , amazing & not leave myself wondering. I am free spoken. I will have to say though, you yourself are truly de-voted to this, . I always read your post , you do a remarkable job, & I Thank YOU for it, keep up the great work. You are someone @ times I will have to agree to disagree, if that makes sense. Sometimes I need a little coaching, I am someone who has high demands, as you know FX has let myself done. but I pick myself up & put my best foot forward , to strive & hopefully get the best out of it PS They actualy say the Benchmark is ensetialy a KING LOL

Just because it is far superior, doesn't mean anythig, So others can go out & purchase it, so they have the Idea in their head, Oh look I have the best rig out their, now I am going to compete in 100 yard Benchrest with this rig. What I originally stated was .That my King MK! .30 in a ST chasis was a better shooting rig in my opinion than the New Benchmarh MK 2. It had weight naturally with the ST long rail, Athlon Aries scope , 700 cc bottle. It was a Duel purpose setup. Hunting & easily 100 yard bench rifle. It shot phenominal , even off a tri-pod. all vids show the Benchmark being shot from the side not from behind the action. I totally understand what you said prior about the Benchmark Mk2. But to have a decated bench rifle is not myself. One certainly doesn't need the Benchmark to compete or win 100 yard Benchrest. The best claim to fame was when Dusty Powers won with his .22 Crown. No fancy gagets or weighted rig, plain & simple. Times have certainly evolved, but you certainly don't need the latest & greatest to compete or win. one can have the latest & greatest, but the average Joe can come by & sweep everyone with plain & simple. I agree with everything you say, but I am someone who always roots for the underdog to put things in perspctive

Hate to say it, but I'm going to say it anyway. Is the .22 FX Panthera MK2 700 a true 40 grain slug shooter? My thoughts are yes & no. Like all Fx airifles high reg psi is needed. Small bore air restricted flow, vise versa for larger calibers. To be honest I think it's a 30 to 34 grain slug shooter easily. with true harmonics. I am actually comptemplating , of not even to bother to try the 40 grain, @ high reg psi. I am also disgusted with not all true DATA to support this rig from Fx isn't all that accurate. One would have to max out the rifle to sling the 40 grain slugs @ 980 +. This in return will internally harm the guts within the rifle. It would need to be serviced @ a sooner interval. I even thought of moving on , without this rifle. I didn't take ownership yet ! It was supposed of been tested @ 100 yards for accuracy, before delivery, No hick ups. I actually started this thread , back in March ? I guess at this point I am Discusted with all the facts & fluff . I have been waiting all this time for what ? A empty promise Heck I can do the same out of the DRS MK 2, just about in 22 700 At this point I think I am over the HYPE

Can you clarify: do you actually have the rifle yet?
Personally I’m over wanting a .22 that can sling a 40gr slug. It’s so much easier to use a .25 or .30 for heavier slugs with less pressure. But, I’m only speaking about my needs.
I’m no expert on tuning. I’ve actually started adding tuning tools to my ballistics app, so that I can learn more. Everything that I’ve read so far indicates 145 bar is the sweet spot for 40gr slugs with the Panthera and the stock hammer. With the heavier hammer, 160-165lb. Do you need 980fps to shoot them accurately? I’m finding that one of the biggest AIRGUN myths is that slugs need really high velocities. I’m guessing slug and rifle design are finally catching up.
As far as marketing promises, FX is just one of many that over promise. If you haven’t received your Panthera yet, I’d be annoyed too.

In my post Prior to this one. I have NOT received the .22 Panthera MK2 700 with Bull Barrel ! I guess I am waiting for test results @ 100 to check for accuracy , great liner & what slugs performs the best. My Intial thinking 7 months ago, was a 40 grain .22 slug rifle slinging 980 fps +. . A far cry from what it will actually do now . Stock hammer is factory 12 or 13 gram. Max power with reg @ 150 is slinging 40 grain @ 950 FPS, dialed back to 920 FPS. This tune is a bit conservative to me. This is not what I signed up for originallly for. If one tunes it with higher reg Psi, service will be needed sooner than later. This is a big let done for myself. Like I said to you before , I sold my perfect legit .30 cal King Gen 1. that rifle was totally amazing, spot on, well tuned perfection. I @ this point wish I never sold it , for the latest & greatest, my bad. It was if I had the perfect barrel / liner. I am pissed off @ FX & all the Hype they promote with FALSE, misleading DATA about their rigs. The DRS MK 2 .22 700 performs close behind the Panthera. I have stated before . In my opinion the Panthera MK .22 700 @ best is a 34 grain slug shooter @ it's best. For the 40 grain it is pushing the upper limits with strain for high speed. If you recall when the 40 grain Ace slugs came into play, they were the next best thing next to sliced bread. The Panthera .22 700 was supose to be their flagship long range rig. It is with 34 grain .. LOL. I waited over six months for the .22 700 Bull Barrel, while you & others got their .30 Barrels LOL Empty promises from FX. I post it here so others will read. I wish this on no one what I been through, My passion for the Panthera is down the tubes, in the rabbit hole I personally fell into. For half the price I would recommend the DRS over the PANTHERA. Slightly less performece, but not by much. Feel free to comment back, & FX if they read this as well. FX will post on other forums but , not her If I am not mistaken . They must be AFRAID to post here or response. This is a super long post , but as you can tell I had to get it off my chest. Going on 7 months . Total B S

I’d be having a life crisis and breakdown if I’d ordered something in March and was still waiting.
Have to say this , I am calm & collective individual. This experiace has just about gotten the best of me. This is why I just about loose my cool when posting,
. I can't let it get the best of me. This is why my wording might seem harsh to you or others, & I apologize for it, but @ this point I actually had enough . I can't let this take me down . In this time frame I personaly mailed out 4 rigs to Allen Zasadny, AKA AZ & received them back, that are nothing short of Phenominal!

So what exactly is your purpose for this gun? Target, hunting, competition? If target work and you were really happy with the king 30 why not go back?

I purchased this rig to deploy the .22 40 grain @ HIGH SPEED. 980 fps +. For hunting purposes. I am now comptemplating on a .30 legit 100 yard rifle , like I once had before. I am going to have to research this heavily, for I want to do this as a one & done rig, with 100 yard bench to Tri-pod for hunting coyote. I am almost wandering if I should of went with the AAA 223 or .22 rig instead of the Panthera. The King I owned before was a true GEM even in the mk1 platform. Boy do I miss that rifle. I set my reg to 113 Bar & fine tuned it. I was shooting the 50 grain Aea @ 950, with pin point accuracy. That had a liner that was truly amazing. It felt like a had a 1 of 1 liner. it it wan't even a straight up pellet liner

I didn't purchase this 40 grain slug shooter to shoot @ STARLINGS like the you tubers or Influeners do LOL I wanted to use it for coyotes @ close range. 50 yards & under. I am having second thoughts about it now.
