Thats the most fun lol, I like to shoot, not tune. Even with the quick adjustments I find myself getting exhausted fine tuning this and that. I am a set it, forget it, and shoot it guy. Thats what appealed to me so much about the evols. If somethings working, I don't put it in a position where it may not work afterward lol.Oh poo, that is no fun!

Well , I took the hps out again for its last time in my hands.
I have some final thoughts on it but a short version is I am really, really happy to see this as the next variation of the Evol.
I got back out today with Zans and again they disappointed, I do not blame the rifle, or my shooting, ( I shot .5 moa at 100 with the Slayer after this lol see my next slayer post ). I think there's truly a QC issue. 4 or 5 would group "decent" then rest shotgun blast. At 905-910 fps.
The rifle shoots half moa full magazines with 44.75 if I do my part which proves it can shoot at the top of the best!
Each and every modification to Tom made to the evol while turning it into the HPS is brilliant. The ease of adjustability , smooth consistency of the new valve, the new hammer cocking system. All , AWESOME. As expected none of the upgrades feel cheap or feel like they compromise the ruggedness the American Air Arms lineup is known for.
And with that said I'm sending it back to Tom, I feel extremely lucky to have tested and used this rifle. I wish I could keep it lol.View attachment 3278View attachment 3279View attachment 3280View attachment 3283
Very nice with the 44’s. You are going to make it hard for me to decide between the 30 and 22 cal for sure to begin with.Well , I took the hps out again for its last time in my hands.

very LOLTo start with I would honestly go with a 22, if it's your first rifle. The 30 is a big round and can get expensive to plink with.
Does anyone know the weight of the green Magpul stock on Tom's hps vs the prs magpul they typically came withWell , I took the hps out again for its last time in my hands.

Same weight. The prs lite is the prs lite despite color. If you're referring to prs lite vs the gen 3 prs they used to come withDoes anyone know the weight of the green Magpul stock on Tom's hps vs the prs magpul they typically came with
That's exactly what I was trying to ask and forgot the gen 3 description. ThanksSame weight. The prs lite is the prs lite despite color. If you're referring to prs lite vs the gen 3 prs they used to come with
Prs lite 18.2 ounces
Prs gen 3 32.1 ounces.
No problem! personally I like the PRS Lite more, I have had Evols with both the Gen3 and the Lite, they both have the same functions the Gen3 just has quick adjustment knobs and a place on the bottom to mount MLOK for things like a monopod. That's exactly what I was trying to ask and forgot the gen 3 description. Thanks
She was a dirty girl! LolOk so
Tom had this rifle tuned before I got it. He sent it field used. So barrel needed to be cleaned, I needed to zero it, etc
So I put it in my jeep and let the rifle acclimate to the 23* we had today.

I packed the rest of my stuff up and headed down to the range. Once there I took a few glamor shots and set up my shooting area
Once I had everything setup I hooked my bottle up and let it slowly fill to 4000 psi, new fill pressure on the hps models is 4500psi but my tank didn't have that much in it.

While I waited for it to fill I decided to clean the barrel, it was filthy, pics show all.
