If you’re gun is too low on the bench sometimes it puts your bofy in a tense position prone to movement. I try to be seated high enough to have the gun higher and my back straighter not hunched over.I’m hoping form, or lack there of. Wind is a part of it I’m sure
. I just can’t get a sub-MOA group at 103yds with any projectile. I don’t expect to shoot sub-MOA every day. But, now 1.5” seems to be the best I can do. I do think that I need to build a shooting bench. I’ve tried barely gripping the rifle and letting the rest and bipod do the work, to using the traditional method of pulling the butt tight into my shoulder. I guess I’ll keep plugging at it.
Frustration has definitely set in lol. I’m also seeing wind. I’m going to take a break. Maybe it’s time to go back to75 yards when I try again.Should mention to that i find myself shooting poorly when i get frustrated testing sometimes and just end up throwing lead down range instead of shooting well. Might be just me but perhaps a break would help. Remember too it doesn’t take a lot of wind @100 to really screw things up when you’re trying to judge a group
Pm coming your way.Frustration has definitely set in lol. I’m also seeing wind. I’m go ing to take a break. Maybe it’s time to go back to75 yards when I try again.
That's awesome for those conditions, right direction indeed!Well, I took a break from shooting for a couple of days as advised. I broke the cardinal rule involving any kind of tuning. I made multiple changes to the rifle, moderator, scope, target, position etc.. I did all of this at the same time. Which means I don’t know what had the greatest effect. I moved the target back to 75yds. Moved the scope back .25” ( I was straining to get the correct eye box. Opened the exit hole of the moderator, it wasn’t clipping, but I was concerned that it was disrupting the air. I turned the table, as I realized that my right elbow wasn’t making solid contact. Cleaned the barrel with a brass brush, Ballistol and patches. Swapped the Accu-Tac FC-5 G2 or the shorter Accu-Tac FC-4 G2 ( the 5 felt less stable to me extended). The wind was horrible 4-18 mph constantly changing directions. But, if I wait for no wind, I will rarely shoot. 2 shots to get it on target and then a decent 5 shot group. jSB 44.5gr 882 fps 160ish bar. I posted a couple of screen shots of my wind readings over 2 minutes. The winds changed from east to north to west and varied between. 4 and 12 mph. I actually shot this group ten to fifteen minutes earlier and the winds were stronger. But, I think I’m heading back in the right direction. Thanks for everyone’s help.
I just increased my reg to 170ish. Haven’t tried it yet. The pellets were pretty consistent. I will retune the hammer. I’ve got to readjust my trigger. It’s started letting loose on its own all of a sudden. Luckily I keep it pointed down range. Not really luck, gun safety was pounded into me at a young age lol.Now you are getting there!!!!! 870-905 FPS is where I have had good results....My reg is at 170 bar and I am shooting right at about 895-898......Not sure if you were watching your Extreme Spread, but low single digits is very easy to obtain with just a few minor adjustments of the hammer spring.
It does suck having to take it out of the stock, so when I am working on the Hammer Spring, I don't bolt it down into the stock completely until I have a tight ES, then I go for a group.
Also a different moderator can make a huge difference. I did shoot it without one, but it seams the STO FALX I use tightens up the groups.

I'm at that point with my TX200Well, I took a break from shooting for a couple of days as advised. I broke the cardinal rule involving any kind of tuning. Yeah, it’s definitely frustrating sometimes. Hopefully you’ll get it worked out.I'm at that point with my TX200
Stopped shooting it a few weeks ago bc accuracy went for a crap. Saturday night I cleaned the barrel and it was fine, wire brushed choke, ran patches, swabbed it out. Then I went over every single bolt on it and the scope rings, all OK. Go to shoot it and the zero is wacked out - high and left. I got it close and accuracy got a bit better. Well today I shot it again and zero was off... again....pretty sure the scope (Airmax) is on its death bed.Soooo frustrating.
Too bad your Sonoran has such a high ESI just increased my reg to 170ish. Haven’t tried it yet. The pellets were pretty consistent. I will retune the hammer. I’ve got to readjust my trigger. Wow, starting to get dialed in,It’s tightening up. 179 bar, 865fps
What grain slug are you making now? That's a nice grouping; coming back and getting dialed in at 75 yards is paying off!!!3 shot group with my own swaged slugs at 100yds. I had a variable wind hitting 14mph. I deceived to quit while I had a nice min group in spite of the end lol. Sub-MOA for sure - .774”. I had to go to a lighter slug, I went up to 51.9gr and the slugs were wobbling before the pay left the moderator.
