Sonoran First Attempt With slugs - BRK Sonoran .30

I’m just going to wait for a Sub-MOA for the .25.

unfortunately it’s not going to happen. On Saturday I was told I could have one, long story short: I received a call from “someone” tonight explaining why I wasn’t getting one. No point in hashing it out in public. 😉
Ah shoot, I'd guess out of stock already? As a Canadian, I'll probably have to wait till you guys are all stocked up on barrels....could be a while😅😮‍💨 I love that idea, though!....keep the Sonoran as the .30 and the Ghost as a .25 but go with the SubMoa barrel (eventually, lol)

That’s it. .25 on order

This group is seven JSB . 30 Knock Out slugs at 100 yds with a varying right to left crosswind. The single pellet above it was not shot as part of the string. I can’t imagine what the Sub-MOA 1:16 slug barrel performs like - I can really and I sure hope we will see some examples within the next week. It’s a sub-moa group.

What was the CTC measurement?

Tony P.
.746 that’s a one off so far. I think I’ve shot around 1000-1100 pellets and slugs through it. Of that probably 120 or so were slugs. I’ve had two maybe three groups with pellets that were sub ,6 inches. But I’m realistic, I almost always have wind and realize that sometimes the wind will actually help a group. I’m not consistent enough to really see a big difference between the pellets other than drop with the heavier pellets. I’ve only tried the one type of slug so far, the groups have been tighter than the Ghost ,25 and the Barra 250z, but most 5 slug groups have been greater than 1” as expected. That one group would definitely be cherry picked, it just happened to be the last one I shot.

Oh ya no pressure right! Lol calling for rain mon tue wed. Mabe i should have gotten a 1-26? Boy and according to pyramyd it only has a .09 bc!
I can’t wait to see your results. I was a little confused with what he was telling me yesterday
, it seemed like he was saying they still had the 1-26.

I went out and measured that slug group again this morning. It was painted over, but easy to see on the steel. I got .75”. So I had just topped the bottle off. I shot 3 shots to settle the regulator (I put that in there so that I sounded like I knew what I was talking about🤣) it was a loose 1.5” group. I shot 3 more shots off target and it tightened up. I know my groups being on painted steel may look suspect online. When the pellets hit the steel with such force, it removes so much paint around the hit that it looks like a much larger group, as in 2-3 times the size. I didn’t want that hassle so I posted an EBR 75yd practice target at100yds - it’s actually 101yds but who’s counting. Some wind, but not as bad as I usually deal with. Definitely less than sub minute of angle. jSB .30 50.15 gr slugs, random tin, random slugs. These are the only slugs that I’ve tried. No cleaning in the last several hundred pellets and slugs. 90f, 78% humidity (miserable). From what I understand, these barrels come in three twist rates: one for pellets, one for slugs and a Goldilocks do it all barrel. I believe this is the do it all barrel. Maybe there’s only two, either way it’s not the “slug” barrel and yet it’s “my” most accurate slug gun. Group size CTC .877”

Super exciting stuff, and good shooting on your part too😆! Hope I don't explode from the excitement when I order my .22 slug barrel someday. I say; don't clean barrel for a while yet and see how long it stays accurate!?

I received another order of pellets and slugs from DonnyFL this morning. I bought more ,30 JSB pellets, some AEA .25 29gr pellets. I also put two tins of AEA .30 52.2gr slugs on the order to try. I made no adjustments to the Sonoran and just shot it. Sonoran .30 180bar max power wheel 100yds, AEA .30 52.2gr slugs, 10 mph wind varying from crosswind to tail and headwind. The first group was .99” including the baby flyer. I haven’t photographed the second group yet, but it was a little better. I’ve attached the Chrono results and told it to ignore the first two shots because it was just filled in 69f and brought out to 105f heat index. I believe the groups would be better with calmer or more predictable winds. None of this is scientific, just me having fun. My gut feeling is that the JSBs are grouping better, but cost me almost twice as much. Shout out to @DonnyFL this is the second order from them this week I ordered them in the afternoon and received them securely packed the next morning via ground.

Have you tried the Daystate 49.5gn slugs yet?

Whats up? Wind ? Form? Slugs?
I’m hoping form, or lack there of. Wind is a part of it I’m sure
. I just can’t get a sub-MOA group at 103yds with any projectile. I don’t expect to shoot sub-MOA every day. But, now 1.5” seems to be the best I can do. I do think that I need to build a shooting bench. I’ve tried barely gripping the rifle and letting the rest and bipod do the work, to using the traditional method of pulling the butt tight into my shoulder. I guess I’ll keep plugging at it.
