EVOL HPS Evol HPS mini at AoA

Agreed, Evanix has produced some remarkable airguns. They always have an amazing new design every year at the IWA show. But somehow they have never quite gained real traction in the market.
Probably because the owner doesn't support the industry, doesn't sponsor shooters, doesn't show up to large events and doesn't promote his products. The markup probably isn't enough for distributors to want to bother with. When was the last time you heard someone on the forum say "you should buy and Evanix"??

My first PCP was an EVANIX Rainstorm. I was a decently built and designed gun but they have always made strange choices. Bore was .223 not .218 so the only pellets it shot well were the ENJUN. While it made good power for the day it was horribly inefficient mostly due to the the radial ported valve. The trigger geometry was the worst, pulling the trigger would actually drive the hammer backwards.

They did do a lot right too. Good looking stock, nice exterior finish on aluminum parts, large reservoir and a decently deep magazine.

There downfall was mostly due to too many new models with lots of teething issue and as Dana has stated no after sale support.

That is an awesome video. Destin is always very thorough. The comment that really rang through was when JJ said "It's the supply chains - it always goes back to China" in regards to the Indian chain mail.
I love that channel, one of the best on youtube. This video got 1.4million views in a day and their first batch of scrubbers sold out in hours! The tool and die "nonexistence" was what got me. This should be a national security issue. I am certainly going to try to buy American, but it has to be good, not just made here. I'm patriotic but not stupid either.

one of my products is still made in the USA but we have run into issue with get USA made product one being stainless screen write cloth ( screen ) even whne we ordered and paid more to get it it was not USA made.
people think its hard to start up but we have machinery setting we have buildings we need educated people to take the jobs folks like me have left fortunately I am to guy the designs and make the tooling but I know we are a dying group

A similar situation occurs in the video, it's good, you should give it a watch.

I did that why i mentioned it. : )
I wish more folks realized the impact of just getin something cheap and disposable. it goes far beyond the reach of the manufacturer

To anybody that is on the fence about buying an AAA, because of perceived value compared to other more affordable options, when you are actually in the position to buy whatever you want, check out this video. It's not about airguns, but it definately got me thinking that maybe my next airgun should be one made here, again.

The brown truck left 15 minutes ago so here's my quick unpacking photos.

Tom you killed it with the product and presentation. This backpack soft case is the bomb. 100% support for "Made in the USA".

Fine piece of American craftsmanship right there! The new color combo looks great on that little hunting model. For reference, it's putting out the same power and speed as my longer 15" Magnon.

Yessir it is. A nice little brother to the .357 Slayer. Haven't been able to shoot it yet. Heading to the range tomorrow. I'll try to take a few more pics and see how she groups.

Morning update. I got out to the range with my son this morning. Had a chance to break in the HPS Mini with AEA 45gr pellets. I was going to put a sweet scope on it, but nothing had the right mounts in the right place so I ended up plopping on a Vector Veyron 4-16x FFP.

When I tell you it was 66 degrees and near 100% humidity I'm not kidding. Both the HPS and the Huben K1 were literally dripping water from so much condensation on the barrel.

The AEA 45gr chrono'd at 830fps which is a little lower than I expected - but in line with using the AEA 45gr in other guns - I think with the harder alloy they tend to shoot a bit slower than JSB on any power setting. I am getting almost two magazines on a 4500 psi fill. The lower right target is a 2nd magazine and you can see it fell off reg the last two shots and they went pretty low.

I will admit I was a little concerned at first as the first 40-50 shots were giving me 2" groups @ 50 yards. It started to settle down a bit and these were my final groups before moving out to 100 yards. (For size reference each target is 2"x2" and each sub-square is 1"x1")

Moving out to 100 yards from a 50 yard zero required about 3.8-4.0 MIL holdover. As at 50 yards the groups were not blowing me away but I could see the HPS still settling in. I think in total I put maybe 120-140 pellets through it today. Below is my final 5 shot group at 100 yards. As noted the small square is 1"x1" - so this a MOA or less group!!

Falling in love with this rifle already. I will likely swap the grip for an ERGO but that's about it. Woohoo!!
