EVOL Everett (Rooster) Hodges - EBR 2026 Junior and Sportsman 1st Place winner

[American Air Arms]

I'll try not to get too sentimental . Over the many years I have been in the shooting sports, I have met so many incredible people; some have become my closest friends. Matt Hodges and his son Everett are no exception. I met Matt on the GTA forums about 12 years ago when he reached out to ask some questions about designing air tubes for big-bores. Matt and I met for the first time at EBR sometime around 2020 at the big bore competition. Keeping this short I started supporting Rooster's competition shooting shortly after Matt and Rooster suffered a major theft of all their Airguns while travelling from their home in Texas to EBR. The tragedy became an amazing moment; so many fine people at EBR stepped up to help Matt and Rooster get the most out of their EBR trip offering guns, equipment and comradery.

Everett now 16, participated as Junior in the Sportsman for the 75/100 benchrest. Everett shot two exceptional qualifying cards earning a combined score of 466 with 14Xs. This score secured the first place Podium for the Junior class.

Rooster also excelled in the Sportsman Final with a with a combined score of 431 with 3Xs just edging out the runner up by 1X!

I am very honored to have Matt and Everett as both friends and competitors. Junior shooters are so important the health and continued success of our sport.

Thank you Matt and Everett for you faith, support and friendship.

Rooster... I could not resist

Great people and great friends!!!!! Having these two at the house was a pleasure. Both are top notch people and watching Matt with his son working as a team shows we still have families that care about each other.

Big results for a 16-year-old, and that one-X margin in the final is properly nerve-wracking. Nice to see juniors getting real support in the sport.
