I am a new DW owner and am beginning to mess with advanced settings. Trying to understand the relationship between dwell and voltage settings. For example I am currently running a setting in .25 for 25.39 pellets. Reg is 143–145 bar. First number 2273 voltage 78. That is running them in the low 900’s to 915 fps. The top number seems very sensitive. Before landing on this setting I had it at 2300 and the velocity was more 915-920. Wanted to drop that a bit so I lowered it to 2250(I think). That dropped fps 100. Bumped it up to 2275 it was same speed as 2300. Dropped to 2274. Same. Dropped to 2273 (where it is now) and got a slight drop. I programmed 2272 as well just haven’t had a chance to test it. Just curious is that the right approach to the top number. Fine tune that dwell to where you are teetering on the edge where once lowered the speed drops a lot ?? Is the approach similar with voltage ? How do the numbers relate to each other. ? Thanks.

I don't remember all my numbers right off but I had a 25 DW and shot the 34gr pellets. The reg pressure is to high, try 110-115. (remember to degas the system to turn the reg down) The first number is the dwell time of the solenoid, or the time voltage is being applied. The voltage is how hard you are hitting it the system. A higher voltage will get the valve opened faster but are you stressing the system too much? I can't remember my voltage but the dwell was 2600 to 2700 and the 34gr were going around 920 FPS with an SD of less then 2.2 day in day out. I do remember tuning the DW was way easier then the RW. You should see a higher shot count per fill as well.

That's interesting how low your reg pressure is I am shooting the 33.95 JSB in 25 cal also at 930 fps with my reg around 155 that gives me 4 mags.

I wouldn’t have guessed it would make 920 with that low of reg. Will try. Mine is 150 now. Dwell I believe is in the 3k range somewhere. V is like 79 maybe. Will have to look. This runs 33.95 mid 880’s

I run my reg at 152 and my volt at 65/68 and dwell at around 2200/2800 shooting 25/28 gn , it sends them around 900/950 I think the reg at 150 works good , I up/lower the volts when I get the speed I am looking for I back the dwell off untill it starts to drop speed then I give it more volts till it goes up if it does not go up I put the volts back to where it was and up the dwell this lets more air out and will give me more speed but not waste air its a little tricky getting a good balance and can take some time to fine tune it but I think higher volts less dwell gives better shot count and less air waste

Ended up dropping the reg on mine to 117 bar. Decided I am going to shoot 25-29 gr out of it and save the heavies for my fx. 150 bar on mine produced a large extreme spread with 25.39 pellets. The spread with them is solid at 117 bar around 900 fps. I can get the jts 29 gr going 870 with a solid spread as well. Liking it 👍
