Had the chance to get out for several days to do some serious camping in a very remote location that we had scouted out for Coyote hunting. This area had just received a good amount of rain and even some snow in the higher elevations. We packed our cold weather gear as the temperatures get down into the low 20's at night and approximately 34 during the day. We setup camp in a flat area with thick sagebrush and scattered Pinion Pines and Juniper, excellent rabbit and coyote habitat with a nearby river.

We had a good storm coming in so I had planned to get wet during the later part of the day and into the evening, it was pretty cold but thankfully still sunny out. For this trip I brought the New BRK Sonoran in .30 caliber that produces just under 100fpe and sports a 25" SubMOA barrel. After setting up camp I setup my portable shooting table and checked my zero at 50 yards. I shot two magazines of groups and then performed my unorthodox barrel flex test...then shot another magazine.

I give much more detail in the enclosed video but I will say that the Sonoran doesn't disappoint as far as accuracy and durability. We did spend a full day of hiking out to five different Coyote stands that I had previously scouted, all within a ten mile circle of this remote location. We did bring in two large adult coyotes to about 40 yards, pretty action packed few minutes. That evening we made it back to camp, started a campfire and prepared some "Axis Deer" burgers that came from the hunt I did last year.

We enjoyed some fantastic food and later on some coffee in front of the campfire.

This was a rare occasion for me to film my entire trip but I think it shows the real parts of what I do in my life as an airgunner/videographer.
Enclosed in the video:
-Shooting the BRK Sonoran for groups
-Barrel flex test/ ammo and speed
-My overall opinion of the gun
-Talking about the caller I use
-Setting up stands
-Cooking

Hope to share more as I have some pretty amazing trips planned. Cheers, Dana

I really enjoyed the camping and hunting trip. Great to see you and Marley having some well deserved fun and having hamburgers together! 😊

Nice video work, as always! Your barrel stress test always makes me a little uneasy. I am glad that you're doing it and not me. I will say that I am surprised that you don't save that for the end of hunt and not the beginning, in case it did fail. I have some fragile barrels that have done really well being babied, and that's ok, since I am aware, you just have to know what you can, and can't, get away with. It would have been a really short video if that barrel hadn't sprung back.

It's really not much of a big deal, I'm surprised more "reviewers" don't do it. Lol I guess that would work against them on certain products but it's something I certainly feel is important to look at. I've spent enough time in the field to know how many things can go wrong at the worst of times.

Dana you are killing me with those Axis Deer burgers. When I saw that, the wife and I pulled out some Axis deer stew meat we processed and will be making a stew tonight. Perfect night too, it's suppose to start raining at 3 P.M. today.

Cheers my friend 🦌
