Had the chance to get out for several days to do some serious camping in a very remote location that we had scouted out for Coyote hunting. This area had just received a good amount of rain and even some snow in the higher elevations. We packed our cold weather gear as the temperatures get down into the low 20's at night and approximately 34 during the day. We setup camp in a flat area with thick sagebrush and scattered Pinion Pines and Juniper, excellent rabbit and coyote habitat with a nearby river.
We had a good storm coming in so I had planned to get wet during the later part of the day and into the evening, it was pretty cold but thankfully still sunny out. For this trip I brought the New BRK Sonoran in .30 caliber that produces just under 100fpe and sports a 25" SubMOA barrel. After setting up camp I setup my portable shooting table and checked my zero at 50 yards. I shot two magazines of groups and then performed my unorthodox barrel flex test...then shot another magazine.
I give much more detail in the enclosed video but I will say that the Sonoran doesn't disappoint as far as accuracy and durability. We did spend a full day of hiking out to five different Coyote stands that I had previously scouted, all within a ten mile circle of this remote location. We did bring in two large adult coyotes to about 40 yards, pretty action packed few minutes. That evening we made it back to camp, started a campfire and prepared some "Axis Deer" burgers that came from the hunt I did last year.
We enjoyed some fantastic food and later on some coffee in front of the campfire.
This was a rare occasion for me to film my entire trip but I think it shows the real parts of what I do in my life as an airgunner/videographer.
