So what happens when you have a few world class shooters at Rio range night? You pick their brains and you really concentrate on your wind calls. Claudio, Fady, Ziad, Lauren, Jared, of course the boss lady all were there getting ready for RMAC. (Fady and Ziad are staying with Barb and I until Monday when we leave for Utah).

Talk about a fun time!!!!!! Fady and I "played" a shooting game at 100 yards. You get 1 sighter shot, then you take your shot on a bull. The next person gets 1 sighter shot and shoots the same bull. Then it's my turn, with no sighter shot, so it makes you concentrate on the flags on the previous shot and micro adjust from there. After about 5 shots each, you head to a different bull depending on how shot up the bull looks .

It really helped me with reading the flags!!!!! So I had some very good groups out at 100, but when I shot this 10 shot group near the end of the night I put down my rifle and said...."Hell Yeah"

First shot I held 4 MOA and you can see the 7. The next 9 shots I held 6 MOA and really watched my flags to see what they were doing and micro adjusted for each shot. JTS 45's at 895 FPS. Drop the Mic baby!!!!!! Only a couple of 10's, but I will take 9's in that wind for sure.

Sunday is Father's day and there will be a 100 yard local competition....The Sonoran and I will be taking on these World class shooters. I tried to get extra points for being a father and having 2 boys, but Fady, Ziad, Claudio, all pointed out they have kids also....crap no Father Day points for me

So I woke up at 0450 Hrs. this morning and Fady and Ziad are already in my garage cleaning rifles getting ready for another day at the range...Guess that's why they are World Class shooters.

Forgot to update Sunday’s A$$ woopin….well I guess that sums it up . Top pellet score was a 481….I had a 471….pretty much middle of the pack.

We had sight in at RMAC today and my Sonoran shot pretty darn good….First 100 yard card is at 1300 Hrs tomorrow.

I have big bore at 0800 Hrs with Thor, my Bushbuck Carbine…..

Sonoran might be named Sicario…. We will see if it sticks.

Today’s wind was about the same, but not as switching. 4 MOA hold, but opposite direction….Day 1 200. Today 226……I am in 5th place, but the rumor is the top 5 go to finals…..We shall see.

So at 7 P.M Friday I was in the finals. By 9 P.M. Friday I was 6th place. When I asked about it on Saturday, they told me what had happened. Two cards got mixed up in order and since names aren’t on them, they got put in the computer wrong. They showed me my card and explained how 2 different sets of teams score the cards.

Today is the finals and in Pro we have Lauren P. and Fady, both shooting ghosts with 30 cal SubMoa barrels.

Oouuff even Fady is shooting with a Sub Moa barrel!?.....that speaks volumes. Brk gonna have to offer the Ghost without a barrel in the future

Got home yesterday. 11 hour drive and now it is time for clean up. The Sonoran will be heading to William's Arizona in a few weeks for a 100 yard benchrest competition and Extreme Field Target. It will be nice to get up to the mountains to some "cooler" weather.

Insights Don't shoot when the wind changes you will get a 4 ...Nothing like sending a pellet downrange, feel the wind change on your legs and watching the pellet hit a 4

So I did something different after talking to Fady and Ziad. The rail on the Sonoran is small and attached mid length. They said if I am using a bi pod, use a bottle clamp pic rail. The bottle doesn't unscrew like a ghost or Crown so it is solid. So I attached a spare I had at the house.

They also said a front rest is much better than a bipod, but for now I will continue with a bi pod.

The Sonoran shot great!!!!! My issue is still reading the wind for sure.

I will try my poor mans Arca extension and maybe try it tied into the bottle. I’m just nervous using a hp bottle as a support. Goes back to my scuba days and flying in Navy P3s where we treated our oxygen bottle like explosive devices. I haven’t tried a front rest other than a one piece Lead Sled and I’m not liking that. Thanks for sharing.
