Well today is day we get our lanes assignments for EBR.....Hope to draw a good bench. I have not shot the Sonoran for the last few days, just getting everything else ready for EBR. Our youngest son, Matthew, will be shooting his ghost....Our oldest and his wife are going to show up also, so it will be good to have the family together

OK here is the first day report of Bench Rest First 75 yard card.
We got bench 16 for our 75 yard card.....My son Matthew was bench 15.....Wind was not nice at all !!!!!!
After a few sighters, I was getting a puff of air into my cheek even though I had replaced the breech O ring the day before.....No worries, I had extras with me and I replaced it on the timer.....Started shooting again and after 3 shots on target, the Dowdy seal blew on my pressure gauge
Who has ever heard of a Dowdy seal going? If it's not bad luck, I don't have luck......But wait I had my EFT rifle ,Tigger 30 cal ghost, in the truck which was 80 yards away.....
Off like a speeding bullet, power walking towards the truck. (Yeah this temple of mine doesn't run anymore) Then I hear a golf cart pull up next to me....Lauren P. asking whats wrong....I hop in and to the truck we go. Open up the truck and what rifle do I see......
My springer....

Lauren yells "get in" and we head to her car. She pulls out her 30 cal ghost, some fancy a$$ rest and we head back. She helps me get it all set up and I get behind the rifle.....What can go wrong?
After adjusting the Khales scope....(I will stick with Athlon ) With 12 minutes to go I start in on the sighters....How the Hell do I use this rest? Why do people use a rest? Holly crap this is "Flying by the seat of your pants" for sure.
After getting the scope adjusted, wind not figured out, there was no figuring it out, I started on my card. I got done with 1 minute to go. 213 with 4X's......At least I beat Matthew who got a 213 with 3 X's.......
The wife had already taken my rifle to the AoA van and before I was done, Viper was fixed and ready to go...
In the qualifying rounds, if your gun breaks you can grab a backup.....Good thing too, because with my 213 I was in 11th place.....Just 1 place away from the finals and another card to shoot the next day.

Day 2.....75 yard card.
Day 2 was a dream compared to Day 1!!!!!!! Very little wind with just some lite rain when we were shooting.
Viper hammered a great score of 240 with 9 X's....I was feeling really good until I learned Matthew shot a 242 with 13 X's in 7 minutes Punk kid I am telling you ..... No respect for his elders....
We had no idea until the evening if we would make the top 10 to shoot in the finals.
The evening comes and Matthew was in 6th place and I was in 7th.....We MADE IT!!!!!!
Day 1 was wind, Day 2 wasn't bad, Day 3 (Finals) show!!!! Windy, pouring rain, and 100 yards. Time limit got changed to 20 minutes for 25 scoring shots instead of 30 minutes......I did say windy and raining correct....We all know cardboard does not like the rain....
The wind on day 3 was changing back and forth, but the up and down drafts were there also....I would hammer 3 sighters into the 10 ring then go up to the first scoring target and get a high 7.....WTF........Back down to the sighters and I had high shots, low shots, shots that went left and shots that went right....I was scratching my head....
By the time I was done I am pretty sure I dropped a lot of 4 letter words in those 20 minutes.
I ended up with a whopping 202 with 1 whole X......Yeah 4 letter words for sure.
As the shooters were called to the podium I got 6th and Matthew 8th.....
The top 3 in sportsman have to go to the Pro's now.
What a great time!!!!!!!!
AoA and their crew worked their butt's off through-out the entire EBR...Many days before setting up and a few days after breaking down.

I was watched Tony shoot in both 75-yard rounds and to say the weather was crazy is an understatement, the first day was very windy and then watching him go through the Dowty washer blow out and then head out to get another gun then shoot Laurens gun and still keep his composure was interesting to watch, but Tony settled down and just started shooting albeit quickly!!Day 2.....75 yard card.
Day 2 was a dream compared to Day 1!!!!!!! Very little wind with just some lite rain when we were shooting.

Second morning the scores were really solid with the pros putting up some amazing scores, and if i remember there was a 248???
100yard like Tony said was windy and raining, but the Sonoran plowed through, and Tony shot very well!
Fun to watch he and his son in the finals!! Here is a picture of Viper getting ready to float way!
