Ghost BRK GHOST performance centre spring upgrade kit

So has anyone been using these new springs yet? What you running In your ghosts? What are you after with the specific spring you are running currently; more power? more shot count? Different tune for a different caliber/barrel length?....So curious! I have read the Hams review of the ghost and it had a decent shot count with the 18gr pellets sending them at a quick pace but I know the gun in .22 is mostly set up for the heavier stuff. (mrds) Thanks.

My 177HP came with what was then the HP2 spring...way "over powered"...PW settings had minimal velocity changes, wasting air. I then acquired the LP, MP, HP, & HP1 springs...to shoot JSB Exact and Heavies, and the H&N BM I use the LP spring, to shoot the MRD and Beast is MP spring....to shoot the NSA 20.5 gr slug (not sure what the hell I was thinking when I bought those) even with the HP2 spring I couldn't get into the 900 ft/s range (its a ported Pin Probe so this greatly restricts the "power").
Even though they never bothered to answer my questions on this forum or the numerous emails I sent them, I would expect that the new springs have similar spring tension ranges to the old springs, plus they have vibration dampeners...and those are color coded so that you can't mix them up.

I was surprised just how conservative the power "ratings" from BRK are for the Ghost. I'm working with a Team Centercut shooter, and we installed a .25 caliber 700mm Superior Heavy barrel, and with the stock spring (maxed out), and 150 to 155 bar reg pressure, he got 86 fpe with 49.5 grain Altaros ATP Smooth slugs. He wanted slightly more speed (to go from 875 to 895 fps), so ordered a heavier spring. The gun will easily do 90 fpe in .25 caliber. More testing to follow...

You are 100% right about the conservativness....i don't think thats a word . With longer slug barrels and of course slugs she gonna go up! I bet they will match up fairly close to the FX fpe numbers for their impact models with the respective barrels fitted. Fairly accurate with the slugs Centercut with that configuration?

Being that everything is the same as a alpha wolf sans electronics i would think similar power levels should be attainable.

Initial testing with 49.5 Altaros, and 37 & 41 grain ZAN look good. The gun isn't fully in its final shape, Caleb Dickenson is using the barrel clamp Scott Hull made (same design as the BRK one that should be for sale sometime soon), and a CF tensioning method I devised (same as I use on the Impact), plus the heavier hammer spring, so once that's done he will do further testing at 100Y.

I think the very slight differences in lengths (for my springs) is just BRK tolerances for cutting and grinding flat the end of the spring(s). But definitely different gauge wire...I haven't counted coils or micrometered all of the them...

Probably for a touch more preload too to reach the proper rate.

Here's an example of what you can do with hammer weights as well. Can really change the power output and shot cycle.

Based on latest Bro performance update (barrel tensioner) those color inserts aren't just to identify spring tension but also act as a dampener.

So, we're supposed to install the springs with the color insert?

P.S. I'm getting ready to buy the spring kit for my .22 Ghost HP, but when I talked to Airguns of Arizona yesterday, Logan said my .22 HP came with the red spring. But in the AoA video on the spring kit, he says the .22 HP comes with the yellow spring. So, I'm a little confused on where my starting point is with my stock .22 HP spring. Haven't pulled it yet, so if it has a colored insert I guess I'll know...lol

As Solo1 says, the wire diameter is a good measure to go by. The 0.051-0.052" wire diameter is what I've seen installed in the Ghost HP in .22. Dunno what color that one is but it'll do 60fpe in .22 with a 23" barrel.

And the 0.046-0.048" wire spring is the one that comes in the .177 Carbine (here in the US). The 0.046-0.048 shoild get you up to about 40fpe in .22 with the 17" barrel. It'll go to about 52-54fpe with a 23" .22 barrel.

Yes, they are supposed to be “dampeners” along with color coding so you know which spring is which

1. I have the HP2, HP1, HP, MP and LP springs. How do they relate to the color scheme?
2. What Regulator pressure was used to correlate the ft-lb to each spring?
