Any received an invite from Airgun Depot to join their Pro Staff? It states that one can “earn cash and rewards” by sharing knowledge on their Pro Staff platform. Obviously not for me, but thought this may be of some interest to you, our HAM experts

It's definitely an interesting idea and I hope it leads to more input on the AGD site.

Is Airgun Depot trying to become the Airguns of Arizona by using volunteers instead of professionals to dispense product info? I may well be wrong, but this doesn’t seem like an appealing business plan to me. Orv.
I think both PA and AGD have been doing so, via chat, for some time now. I could be wrong, but I've been invited to be a part of it for PA for some time now. I'm smart enough to know that I'm not smart enough on airguns for that.

If the participants are knowledgeable and able to convey that knowledge, it’s a win-win for everyone. The hobby industry has done it for years. Personally I think more airgun companies could benefit from leveraging Hard Air Magazine and its forums. This community is full of expertise, honest opinions and airgunners eager to help. In my opinion it is the friendliest Airgun community and yet manufacturers and dealers rarely participate.

There's a huge difference to me between sharing with those I consider to be my friends and fellow HAMsters here on these forums, and being used commercially by whoever wants to buy my thoughts or knowledge. I just can't imagine Mr. Archer going down this commercial rabbithole. I surely don't know anything at all regarding the financial workings of the HAM Forums, but I, as a member of this community value and respect Mr. Archer for the management skills he employs to have in just three short years, brought this community of forums to the respected place it is today. The HAM Community has quickly become my go-to airgun place for informaton and a sense of belonging in the airgun community. Orv.

Well, I guess I should have opened and read my email first. This AGD project is not what I was thinking. In the Radio Control Hobby world the largest distributors connects customers with questions to volunteer expert “Ambassadors” that operate like online customer service reps and provide general information when the comoanyvreps are unavailable.
When I say companies should leverage the HAM site, I’m talking about companies participating and being active in the community. Providing knowledge to and taking input from the HAM community. A good example is the recent activity by Tom of American Air Arms.
I definitely agree with your view of the HAM community.
