250Z 250z - Working On It!

It does seem that the Barra in .25 is a whole lot less fussy about what it eats than the .22 version, that's for sure. The .25 has always been my favorite caliber for a reason. I am done buying any more .22 airguns for the foreseeable future. I have been shooting my Barra every day to confirm that its accuracy isn't a fluke and I am happy to report that it is not a fluke. It is very accurate with the KO's.
Well I’m super happy to hear it’s working for you! This is the first .25 I’ve ever shot let alone owned so I can’t speak to others but I’m constantly amazed by how accurate this thing is. It’s been a long process of figuring out exactly how to tune this gun since it’s my first PCP but now that it’s dialed again there is no doubt that its biggest limitation is the shooter haha aka me… that being said the reason I got this gun is that I had an Umarex Komplete .22 for like a month and fell in love with air guns in general. Not gonna lie I miss it. Hard to justify backyard plinking at my girl’s house with my long 50+ fpe 250z haha… the Komplete was really fun. I may end up getting a Notos .22 to fill that hole.

The one chip that always makes me give a second glance even though I don't keep snacks in my place hahaha
Me either! I gave up all the junk food, and I have been back to the weight I was at when I went into and left the army at, many moons ago. Of course, the fat to muscle ratio is very different, regrettably, but that's life. I have a "I only eat junk that I make from scratch" rule, because it's too easy to buy, and I don't bother that often.

Doritos were, and are, evil though! I am glad those came out when I was young, and I could just burn the calories off. I think it's cruel to introduce people to them because of their addictive nature, kind of like PCPs, lol.

😂😂😂😂😂 Doritos and PCP’s: the new axis of evil…. For real though it might be cheaper to be addicted to crack than PCP’s…. My list of “wants” is already ridiculous.

On my drive home found a spot that had a bunch of active Rock Squirrels so depending on how I feel afterwork today I may stop and say hi to them. Lead kisses for my rodent friends haha.

I got on a junk food habit a few years back and even though I get a LOT of exercise I was gaining weight and fast I gave up all junk food with an guilt sin once in a while and I lost all the weight and back to what I was many yeas ago.
its amazing I can eat sweets the wife cooks but I get a store bought pie and I can feel the sugar makeing me cranky and feeling like crap and the lbs adding up
but no so with a hommade pie?

Seriously, I may have to grab my Yeti, some ice, fresh lemonade and a small bag of doritos for a hot summer day of plinking.
Don't do it! I wouldn't want to enable anyone down that path. It is so easy to fall off. Instead, by a new pcp, a lot of nice new ones out there. Yeah, I'm on that end of the axis of evil!

Well none of the squirrels wanted to play tonight but this dummy did. The *thwack* he made when the pellet hit him was wild… like someone slammed the screen door as loud as possible lol. View attachment 12771
Are those ticks under its right leg? Nice shot! Sometimes I shoot them in the head because it makes less noise and it scares away fewer birds. Body shots, even on hosps can be really loud.

Nah, looks like he knocked the corn right out of it! The noise was probably the crop exploding.... That's where I aim 99% of the time. High, ends up as a neck or head shot. Low, he's dead too. Love myself some Doritos once in a while but maybe not whilst shooting🤔...mmm lead.

Haha that was bits of seeds and grain that came out cuz his crop was full. And yeah it was really loud when the pellet hit. He didn’t give me much choice though as I had been stalking him for like 5-10 min already. They have great vision and are wary so he kept flying from tree to tree trying to lose me… but honestly I’m glad I did hear it haha. Kinda makes me wanna get a box of FX hybrids. They should do at least 940-960 with current setup and apparently the sound they make is incredible when they hit. A bunch of trees filled with starlings, my gun and tripod would be a dream come true for me haha.

100% correct! A veteran of the pigeon/dove wars I see. Bet you’ve killed a bunch 🫡

I've got ticks on the brain for the past couple of years around here, we never had them when I was growing up but they're here now.

I cleaned out a whole (rookery?) of pidgeons from a convent in the late 80's with nothing but my FWB124D shooting at 12fpe. I shot half of them in the head because that was all they would show me when I would coo up to them so that they would look over the edge of the building. I laugh thinking about the fabulous over-kill we are using now with these things. When I was on the side of the building that had a treeline, I would shoot the pidgeons in the chest, like you did, and that would get them to pop off of the roof and do a death glide into the woods so I wouldn't have to retrieve them. They had a cat and that cat would hang with me long enough to see a death glide and then go get dinner. I laughed every time. Different strategies for different times, still dead pidgeons.

Cats are geniuses. I’m not surprised that happened. There are a couple of cats here that I’ve made the mistake of showing attention to and now they follow me everywhere I go within about 200 yards of the house… they aren’t brave enough to go farther though. This is not a safe place for pets to be straying away too far. Lots of fox and coyotes in the area.

My parents always had stray cats (drop offs?) show up and we'd take em in. Brother and me would get birds by the dozen with or 6Fpe springers. Walk out the door pellet gun in hand and cats would perk up and get ready for dinner. Great memories, sometimes they'd catch em mid crash-landing after being hit. I am admittedly jealous of the slug shooting abilities of you folks barras. My Brk Ghost just sticks up it's nose at them😔.

I don’t know much about the Ghost but that BRK Sonoran .30 with Sub MOA barrel is sexy!

Technically I’m shooting pellets out of mine right now but I’ll be back on slugs soon.

I am not sure how many you tried, I think I tried eleven, keep looking. They really are worth seeking out.

This is just some of what I’ve tried in the 6 weeks I’ve had the gun. For the record it has shot all of them to an acceptable level I’ve just been going crazy tinkering with the gun haha.
I'm just curious, what is an acceptable level for you? For me, if any pellet or slug, that I am really trying hard with, can't shoot a group that I can cover with a dime at 53y, it's crap. I won't shoot it any further.
