2024 SHOT Show Reports

Why are they making this line look like a magazine fed powder burner with a bull barrel ? 🤷‍♂️Strange. I’m sure someone will like it but to me it’s a Nah
I very much dislike replica guns and this to me is that. Yes it's powerful in its own right but it would get me in trouble lol, looks like a high power military rifle....imagine stalking pests with that bad boy?! As far as I'm concerned FX needs to cool their jets, too many new guns too fast. I think/research for 6 months min before buying a new air rifle and at this rate Fx would have 2 newer ones on the market and I'd have to rethink it all over again 🤣🙄. The first panthera seems really old already and it really isn't! Super accurate bench rifle I'm sure though.

I didn't think this was a good look at all. The Panthera is killing it in long range competitions. I've even read of guy putting them up against power burners. I've seen PB guys fall in love with the precision of the Panthera. This FX DRS Pro looks like that hook that you see coming at the last second during a fight, but can't dodge. This may be a black eye for the airgun community. I may be wrong, but this isn't a good look. Why make it look like something it isn't?

These are informative videos. I'm still waiting to see that gun or accessory that makes me feel like "TAKE MY MONEY!"

Ezana4ce, I have been looking for a smaller form factor .22 for a while now. I am more committed to what I want than any brand. I think that FX DRS synthetic classic just took my money. If I get the 500mm with a carbon fiber tube, I get a gun under 5 pounds that will have more shots than a Revere, lighter, longer barrel, bigger magazine, with an even slimmer profile (no tube underneath). I don't need the Pro version, and don't really care about it, but the regular DRS is a wood walkers dream to me. The problem with the Dreamline was the barrel was to long and could get bumped easily, problem solved. I think too much attention is being given to the Pro version, the real stars are the classics. What gun beats this set of features, I have been looking hard, this looks good to me. Just my opinion, certainly not a fanboy, never owned an FX, I like simple so I stayed away from FX, ...until now.

That is very true, panthera 700 got most of the attention online too....try hunting with that thing. It's the length of a small cannon! Do they mention the shot count on the .22 DRS? Air capacity? The walnut or synthetic is the way to go for sure. And probably waaaay less coin.

Still can’t get over the “air-gazine”

The features and performance are not the issue I take with this design. The resemblance to a firearm that I think is unnecessary. I don’t recall or the Panthera being marketed as hunting rigs, although there is a Panthera Hunter to my recollection.

Maybe, but the slim profile really appeals to me more over others concerns of it looking like a firearm. Somebody's always complaining about something.

i just think its looks foney the resemblance to a firearm in regard to the plenum looking like a mag makes it look toy-ish.
i think its is a look designed to apeal to a much younger individual or at least not me.
The underlined portion is potentially problematic. Segments of younger demographics are not the most responsible folks. I think that crime statistics would support that statement. I love the airgun sports that I partake in. I don't have an issue speaking up and in support of what I love or expressing my concerns. From a business perspective, appealing to a new market or increasing your market share makes sense. However, how some go about will always be a concern of mine.

Ya, as I say alot seems the more assault/ military is the fad. Traditional sporting no body wants I guess .. I guess assault gund being under attack here as it is makes them phony ones sell ... The bad boy I'm so koll thing ..lol. Or these companies are just fueling the fire or soon a cop or someone going to make a grave mistake on a look a like assault gun and we'll be taking that heat even if we're just recreational sporting guys ...

That's how it works in this country anymore ..

I think FX did a nice job with this gun, the wood stock version looks really nice actually but I think the tactical version is somewhat of a novelty. The fake magazine, I guess for ascetics and function to hold air it's pretty innovative. I can see where people might get irritated with it trying to mimic a PB but c'mon guys it's just another offering. That new Hatsan semi auto pistol, hopefully they've progressed into creating more reliable units. The Sortie was just terrible, have to say this looks more pleasing to the eye. As far as hunting goes, can't imagine anything more than rats at very close range with that thing. I was lucky enough to get hands on with a few new products that surprisingly weren't showcased this year, I'll be busy.

I can see both sides of this very clearly and have had MANY similar complaints in the past, but the cat has been out of the bag for a while now and I don't see it going back in at this point. Upnorthairgunners point, of the PRO being a trainer is valid too. A lot of people like the modularity and look of tactical, or even replica guns. They are out there. The banners want to ban, period. There is no figuring for them, they are already suspending kids from school for making a gun gesture with their index finger and thumb and pointing it at other kids. They ain't looking that closely at the details, they know nothing to begin with. Don't put your knowledge or concern on them; they don't share it or care. Let's just enjoy what we like while we can.

just want to make sure i was clear at least from my point of view.
i simply think it is ugly it looks toy-ish to me.
i have no itnetrest it seen it band i am all for this type of furniture i like what it brings to the table.
: )

Dude like I say it the trend and I guess what sells ... Most of these guns I look at there builds and pricing and think where? Cheapest 50$ china stuff and ask a grand for it here ...... Then you got to buy a scope to shoot it too boot cause they don't add sights ( oh then if pcp add compressor cost on that too just to get a shot off ). More guns look like a racket for profit then quality item for the money .. gosh forbid wood or walnut then add another 500$ to it ...lol

Well let's not beat up on pcps in general here 🤣. Tactical is fine if it's well designed/built (M3, brk ghost, delta wolf, etc) My point stands, it is an imitation firearm plain and simple. I'll bet it's sweet, accurate, and powerful, my brother wanted the dynamic (3rd version of panthera lol) and I told him to check this out (wood or synthetic stock) but with the mtc chassis it's a replica. Fake mag... Really? You lost me there. It will appeal to a different group of people than me and that's fine. (long range/compete with firearms, etc) How they made it plenum/air space is cool I get it, but it will be mistaken by anyone who isn't in the know as a firearm. (Including other gun owners). And that's generally not a good thing. Second point was: most companies that I purchase guns from still sell there models from 5/10 years back and will continue to sell them for years to come I'm sure because they kick a$$. FX is literally coming out with a new offering every 4ish months or less. I just hope they support their customers with older guns is all. 👍
