Pyramyd AIR Announces Raised Shipping Costs

I was just perusing the Pyramyd AIR web page, and loe and behold there it was . . . free shipping has been raised from $150.00 to $175.00 for free shipping! This, and the buy 3 and get the 4th free for all ammo, and the draw of the free shipping for purchases above $150.00 has been the great draw for me purchasing through them. For straight internet purchases, Pyramyd has long been one of my main go-to spots for airgun and associated products. Their customer services are mediocre at best, but after being a loyal customer for many years, at least I know their products and services well. BUT . . . this change in benefits will definitely find me searching other vendors, and of course, Airguns of Arizona, now my number 1 vendor. I realise that as time and the economy change, so will pricing and benefits. I will still continue to look at the benefits of shopping at Pyramyd AIR, but this policy move will make my shopping to move too. I suppose that this isn't an airgun earthquake, but it is something for at least me to consider. Orv.

The rising cost of diesel and other fuel will likely bring back fuel surcharges on everything from pizza deliveries to the kid who mows my lawn.

Morning Orv. Did you have a chance to check rewards level?

Depending how much you have purchased previously from PA you may have a “perks” level that gives you to even better terms than the “free shipping over $150”

Of course "free shipping" is never free. Someone has to pay for it and - in the end - it's always the customer. That's us.

Given that airguns and associated stuff are generally either relatively heavy or large (or both), I'm personally amazed that Pyramyd can offer "free shipping" on such low order values as they do!

Absolutely the problem here, I wouldn’t pin this one on PYRAMYD or any one retailer, but the fuel costs in general. Gas here just went up to $1.90 a liter.....which is insane btw, glad I carpool to work!
The question always is....when/if the fuel costs go back to normal, will they bring the prices/deals back? Thats the true litmus test!

Excellent point, I was going to bring that up. The rewards program helps for sure. I buy shotgun shells there.

I drifted away from Pyramyd after they expanded their inventory into wide variety of sporting goods. Their prices are not so competitive any more, but I pay the same even with shipping from A o A to NC due to A o A lower prices. and better service. Sometimes I'll get a special item, but...

On another note, I tried to sell items in the classies, but no buyer wanted to pay shipping. I will just have to ad my stuff to sell by appt locally, maybe sill on HAM.
