Airguns of Arizona just dropped an in-depth video explaining the Blackwolf system. I’m only half way through the video and I’m already flipping back to wanting one. Keep in mind it is a marketing video and that is not a criticism, I’m just warning you it’s effective at achieving its desired goal. . I still think the Blackwolf is the finest looking air rifle that I have seen. In my particular case, it just needs to prove its potential to win for me to pull the proverbial trigger.

As far as aesthetics go, I prefer the laminate. I opted for the chassis model because of ease of adjustment to the stock dimensions. I also thought the zero grip angle was appealing.

I absolutely love the look of the Walnut stock, but I’d want the chassis too. But for me, I’m going to have to wait until the dust settles lol.

If the walnut appeals to you, that's what I would get. If you are solely going to use it on the bench, it might be worth it to get the chassis.

For anyone interested, I highly suggest explaining your intended uses to a salesman on the phone to help ensure you get a configuration that matches what you're wanting out of the gun.

The hope being that you won't need to spend more money after the initial purchase to make it what you want.

If the walnut appeals to you, that's what I would get. If you are solely going to use it on the bench, it might be worth it to get the chassis.

If I buy one it will be for benchrest shooting. I’m working on the steps to try and bring my benchrest skills up a notch. I know shooting off a folding gp plastic table is not helping and so I’m going to build a decent bench. I fully understand that I’m the weakest link right now. But shooting skills are the least expensive impediment to fix. I’m blessed in that I’m retired and can shoot 100yds everyday in pajama bottoms, with the only cost being the cost of pellets. The bench is the next impediment that is relatively easy to fix. I believe that my Sonoran is capable of shooting consistent sub-MOA 100yard groups. In my thinking if a rifle can shoot two out five sub-MOA groups everyday, day in and day out, it’s a sub-MOA rifle. But, is it capable of consistent 1/2 MOA groups at 100yds- maybe not. With a .502” ten ring, 1/4” MOA would be ideal. Four thousand dollars is a substantial investment for me (like a lot of shooters) and its inherent accuracy and tune ability can’t be a limiting factor. Simply put, I won’t be able to afford to replace it. My only expectation is that it is capable enough for me to reach the maximum of my ability. I’m willing to put in the effort.

Me, too lol. I started using them in 1981 for cameras and darkroom equipment. They’ve always provided top notch service. I’ve used Adorama since then as well. They’ve also become a great photo/video supplier, not so much in the 80’s. I’m into everything lol. My airgun room is actually my video/livestream room. Way too many interests.

I’ve bought into many different Platform Systems only to find that I couldn’t afford the components required to change to various configurations. For instance what the cost of changing from a walnut to a chassis be? Would the various components be in stock or a special order? The cost of caliber conversion is pretty straightforward.

Absolutely. It absolutely slays me to see someone buy a product, and then spend money needlessly to get it to suit a need that would have been better served by another product. Airguns, motorcycles, whatever.
