There is no info on the .22cal Sonoran as that rifle technically doesn't exist. The rifle started life as a Sniper and never had a .30 cal option. After some reworking to give it more power by AOA, a .30cal Sub-Moa barrel installed, a Sahara (sand) colored stock, and voila you have the Sonoran. If wanting it in .22 you would need to buy the Brk Sniper Xr.I found info on the .30 caliber Sonoran but not the .22 caliber Sonoran and was wondering if anyone had experience with the .22 caliber and would share it with me.
Thanks!
will be looking forward to seeing how well that shoots! I have the Sonoran and a .25 Sniper with the Power Tune, and that shoots awesome!I was speaking with Shane today at AOA and ordered a Sonoran in .22 caliber from him. He spoke very highly of it, and I was wondering if anyone else had one. They will be doing their power tune on it as well.
It sounds like I may be one of the first to get one.
Thanks for the reply, that's encouraging.....Are you shooting slugs or pellets.will be looking forward to seeing how well that shoots! I have the Sonoran and a .25 Sniper with the Power Tune, and that shoots awesome!
The Sonoran shoots both slugs and pellets, the .25 Sniper just PelletsThanks for the reply, that's encouraging.....Are you shooting slugs or pellets.
No, they added .22 to the options for the Sonoran a couple of weeks ago. There is no info on the .22cal Sonoran as that rifle technically doesn't exist. I was almost going to buy the Sonoran in .22, but decided to get the Airmaks Krait X in .22 instead! No, they added .22 to the options for the Sonoran a couple of weeks ago.
Oh nice, im back in the loop, lol. I'll have to check it out!No, they added .22 to the options for the Sonoran a couple of weeks ago.
Either way it doesn’t exist in Canada, sorryNo, they added .22 to the options for the Sonoran a couple of weeks ago.
It’ll be interesting to see how well it does. I would think pretty good.Oh nice, im back in the loop, lol. I'll have to check it out!
The .22 cal Sonoran I ordered has an unchoked 1:16 twist and I am hoping it also will shoot both pellets and slugs as well. I have tried to get several rifles to shoot slugs in the past without much luck and have lots of different .22 cal slugs left over from all that testing to try.The Sonoran shoots both slugs and pellets, the .25 Sniper just Pellets
I would think that twist would shoot slugs just fine. I would tell Shane so he can get the right tune started for youThe .22 cal Sonoran I ordered has an unchoked 1:16 twist and I am hoping it also will shoot both pellets and slugs as well. I would have went with the .30 cal, but I live in Pennsylvania and they only allow .22 caliber or smaller for hunting small game.
We talked about that a good bit today when I spoke with him.I would think that twist would shoot slugs just fine. I would tell Shane so he can get the right tune started for you
I would think the power profile for a .22 Sonoran should be plenty. The .22 cal Sonoran I ordered has an unchoked 1:16 twist and I am hoping it also will shoot both pellets and slugs as well. I have been hunting squirrels with my 22 cal Ghost for a couple of years now and am shooting the JSB 25.39gr redesigned at approx. 935fps. and I have been really pleased with the results. With the power tune the Sonoran should do that without any problem at all.I would think the power profile for a .22 Sonoran should be plenty.
My Ghost has more power than my Sonoran even with the power tune. I ended up retuning mine myself and ended up with more accuracy, less bark and a higher shot count.I have been hunting squirrels with my 22 cal Ghost for a couple of years now and am shooting the JSB 25.39gr redesigned at approx. 935fps. and I have been really pleased with the results.
