Destructive Armadillo in My Yard

I feel like I’m living in the twilight zone lol. Last night we went out until late and I forgot to put the trail cam out. The dillo came back a dug under the breeze block we placed on top of where he had been burrowing. The rabbit I saw is dead in the road. I’ll be back out tonight lol.
Maybe tonight will be the night, what Airgun are you planning on using?

The armadillo has not returned. Unfortunately the black bears are returning everyday. There’s a strong dead smell coming from the neighboring property, I’m hoping their dog might have tackled the armadillo. I really don’t like the idea of surprising a bear in the middle of the night. These bears obviously have no fear and are hungry lol.

They’re probably fattening up for winter hibernation. I do not know if your part of Florida’s climate demands hibernation. Just a thought.

I think you’re right. They don’t hibernate here, but they slow down and fatten up for the winter. They’re hitting all of the homes along the roadside every night. I guess I’ll be building a bear resistant enclosure lol.

I feel like someone is taunting me. The night before last I was out at 10pm shooting spinners at 100yds with night vision. Yesterday I walk down to the spinners and apparently after we finished shooting the Armadillo paid us a visit. He tore up the ground all around the targets at 100yds. I sat out last night after midnight, but it was thick fog.

I wish the pigs I have (Hawaii) made that sorta damage - bastards will wreck 50sq yards of earth 2 feet deep in a night. Don’t ya’ll have hogs there also?

I saw another one at 59 yds. I got a nice head shot on a one inch target. I I took a second shot just to make sure. Interestingly the built-in bc calculator got this one right p, but not the shot at 30 yds. I do like using the thermal to find them and the night vision to id and shoot.
I was wondering the best tactic for night shooting and presumed this may be the best way to sort out what pest your shooting.

The hard part is figuring out when he’s going to be there. He doesn’t show up on a regular basis. I’ve seen him once in the front yard and once in the back over a six month period. When I saw him in the back I didn’t have a rifle ready. I was alerted by a game cam at 2am, that he was in the front yard, he was gone by the time I got out there. The back yard is perfect for using my Ghost or Sonoran with my TNC225R. The dillo likes to forage next to my target stand, which is at 101yds. The backyard is an acre with more acreage behind it. The front yard is a different story. It’s a typical front yard. If I shoot from my driveway (most likely) I risk neighbors vehicles as a backstop.

Is there anything that helps attract dillos to come around more, like a salt lick for a deer?
