Let's Talk About Swaging. Who Is Swaging Their Own Slugs?

Last edited:
Greetings, Ken here. I was searching for GMI Engineering online and happened to join this forum. I represent GMI. As I write this, I am working on a few dies. Here's an overview.

1. The SOC Die Set - This is a straightforward and reliable kit. It works with a $90 arbor press or a $190 hydraulic press from Harbor Freight. It is very basic, ensuring that nothing can go wrong with its operation.

2. The Slug Master - An advanced version of the SOC Kit, this kit allows for adjusting the weight of the slug. Though slightly finicky to use, it is highly versatile and well-constructed, compatible with a $190 hydraulic press from Harbor Freight.

For those who own presses from Corbin or Press Slug, we offer dies that are compatible with these presses. Additionally, we produced the Freedom 2 Presses, which are currently on backorder due to a shortage of parts from vendors. These presses should be available again in about a month.

Happy to help!

Welcome aboard @Engg.Ken I mentioned some of your swaging setups in post #s 21 and 34 as seen below.
A new offering from GMI -

I'm told that the GMI Freedom Press MkII is a new design as that MkI was designed around the Walnut Hill press. This MkII looks slick. I'm excited to see how this performs and how owners like it overall. I'm really curious about the machining and build quality. I have a feeling this will be a well regarded setup.
Alright folks. I received word from Ken that the improved GMI site is now live. For those interested in the GMI swagging system take a look here.

What dies do you offer for the Corbin press? Have been loving my press, and always interested in different dies.

Have been trying to find a large flat nosed slug to play with.....is that something you guys make?
