Just curious if anyone has this same feeling. I have owned numerous fx guns and this summer I had a couple fx amp reg failures. Sent one in (crown) and by the time it was done and shipping it was like 100 bucks. Then my wildcat bt one took a dump. Tried to fix it myself and after nearly an hour to get that stupid little oring back in its spot in the bottom of the amp reg I just sent it off. Was still under warranty and I was utterly frustrated. That gun took forever to get back as the plenum tube the reg screws into was defective and had to wait for one to get to the USA. In that time I vowed I was done with fx. I absolutely despise that little PIA regulator with a passion. The gun finally came back and here is the love problem. I have owned many different brand guns and without a doubt fx makes, in my opinion, the smoothest shooting guns bar none. There is some magic mojo or something going on in there. My wildcat bt .25 at 63 ft/lbs has an equivalent shot cycle feel as my .25 delta wolf at 43 ft/lbs. It’s mind boggling. If they could just get a reg that isn’t a nightmare to work on and a bit more reliability they would have everyone blown out of the water. I also had a Skout epoch in the last year. FX shot cycle at a same given power as the Skout is so much softer and smoother. Just like when compared to the delta wolf. Anyway that is my love hate rant. lol. Was going to sell the cat but I just can’t now.

FX Never owned one, But I was on the TAG form when the FX line was 1st coming to the US,,
They have gotten better, But if you were around at the 1st you know what I am talking about...
Why do they still make the impact with all the 0rings , When I questioned the 1st impacts , I was told it is a tuners gun not a shooters gun??? That was a lot of years ago...

FX pushes new guns and product HARD. Most companies come out with 1 new gun every couple years.....in that time FX will have 4 or 5 out, easily. Their airguns push the envelope in competition, tuning, power (talking small bore here), shot count, styling, customizabilty, slug sending abilities, amount of influencers pushing the product, etc. I spent a fairly long and stressful time back and forth on a new M3 last year, finally settling on my Ghost HP...watched enough FX repair vids and got turned off... What FX needs to do is spend more time on a product before getting it out, better QC, and ultimately simplify their designs (less parts & less o-rings) Showed my brother the new FX leopard video, sweet looking platform (half Impact/half Panthera?) but I fear in the reliability department it will be...just another FX...

You know, I get what you're saying, and everybody else, but that's what you sign up for with FX isn't it? Don't get me wrong, I think that's fine, because the gun's adjustability is off the charts too. There is a price for everything. With FX, it's not just money, but also time. BUT, and yes this is a big but, if more people would pull their head out, and accept that upfront, and learn how to work on their highly adjustable platforms, well and quickly, complaints would go down just as fast. All these problems are not so problematic once you figure out how to deal with them yourself, and not just ship it back to someone else to work on. I actually like working on my guns and there are very few problems that I haven't been able to fix on the fly. I don't own an FX, and don't know if I want to be humbled by one at this point either, maybe. I think you did well to go with the Ghost HP. Unless I was an ammo testing YouTuber, I'd go with a Ghost too.

You seem pragmatic on the matter, because the qualities you like or love in your FX experience outweigh the negatives… So in my opinion this a post that actually praises the FXs you have owned. All products have their issues. Good post…🙏

My first PCP was a Royale 400 22 cal. Magnificent rifle I should have kept. My 2nd FX was a Maverick Compact 177 two years ago. It went back for warranty work after suffering a catastrophic valve issue. I bought it new and it has stripped fastener heads and the cocking handle was sharp enough it would cut my thumb. A completely different experience from the first rifle. Until I start seeing changes to the FX business model, I won't support them in buying a new product.

I'd love to be able to shoot one every now and then, but not have to work on it, or live with it.

Their new pistol looks nice though.
I've never had the pleasure of shooting or owning an FX rifle. Closest I've gotten is the FX barrel kit 500mm in length and liner i installed on my Notos. And man does it shoot great. Even better than the original short barrel that came on it!

I have two crowns. The first one which I use for field target has about 15,000 pellets through it and has never been apart. Probably shouldn’t have said that! The second one was bought used and I had to rebuild the regulator, luckily I did not have any problems getting the o-rings back in. I will agree with Linehauler73 the one in the bottom can be tricky. Other than the one regulator I have had good luck and still like both of mine. My only real complaint is having to take the safety and HS knob off to remove the stock.

I also have a love hate relationship with my FX rifles. I have a M2, M3, Crown and King. I purchased 3 of the 4 used and 2 of the 4 leaked. I had to rebuild the front regulator on the M3. The King was leaking around the valve cap. It was under warranty so I sent that one in. The accuracy of the M2, M3 and Crown are amazing. I just got the King and it is hard to get all 5 pellets in a good group. Not sure why.

Love: The accuracy, power and adjustability.
Hate: The adjustability and number of O-rings.

I have the M2 posted for sale as I don't need 4 FX rifles. I don't really want to sell it, but I have so many rifles that I need to make some room.

Yeah I’ve seen it and it’s a nice looking gun. Just stinks as with the older model fx you really have to bite it hard. There was a mk2 over at AGN that never sold for 1075. Crazy and another reason besides shooting so nicely I decided to keep the wildcat BT as I most likely would take a beating on it.

Regulators seem to be the weak link, but easy to rebuild with new o rings. Of the seven I’ve owned, one leaked early on and it went back for warranty repair. One other had a leaky regulator after 5 years and I rebuilt it myself with two bucks worth of o rings.for PCPs, I think that’s kinda typical.

I’m judt going to have to learn and get better hand eye coordination or something. I didn't find the amp easy at all to deal with. I even had magnifying eye glasses and found those little buried orings a nightmare.

I have been on the fence about FX for long time. I do not own any and haven’t in the past. But I do think their guns are really cool and innovating, coming out with new models and pushing the envelope on styling and performance.

I just believe out of the box if your spending close to or above 2K , the gun should be great out of the box. I understand that they’re a tinker/ tuneable gun and that make them cool. But why not have it at least be set to shoot 18gr pellets out of the box at least. I understand that they’re all different models and some are different than other models, think the DRS models are probably closest out of the box to being a set it forget rifle.- compared to an Impact where it can or may need a lot of tuning to shoot good.

If I were to pull the trigger and open up the wallet, a DRS would be what I’d buy or wait for the new Leopard- Time will tell.

I think if you bought a .22, it would be set up to shoot 18.1 gr JSBs right from the factory. Many problems arise when folks get the tools out and start messing with them. If you don’t want to mess with them, then get a RAW, Daystate or Brocock. Regardless, buy it from a dealer that will set it up the way you want and test it like SPAW, Utah, or others. Some dealers just pull a box off the shelf and send it to you.
