Steering Away From Complicated Guns

As I get older I want everything simpler including my airguns. Not owning complicated guns is very liberating because of the simple fact that they’re easy to fix in 5 minutes without the need for any special tools and techniques. The most complicated gun is my atomic if you even call it complicated lol. I would visit the safe once a week when it was full to make sure everything had held air when I had a bunch of guns. Now I’m relaxed knowing even if they develop a leak I have everything needed to repair my fleet of 3 guns. Regardless one has lifetime warranty and 3 o rings, other is so simple a monkey can repair it and the third is backed by AOA for 3 years.

Agreed! My TX strips down in about 10 minutes and my Slavia springer maybe a bit longer. The Ghost is (in the pcp world) a very easy gun to work on. Now the S510...everything is locktited, welded, glued, tamper proofed, and NOT friendly to work on for that first time, it is the only gun of the 4 I'd send to a dealer...maybe. It is a fairly simple gun but I dread any repairs. Thankfully we got @Sub 12 airgunners aka "the Airgun wizard". I even watch his videos on guns I have zero plans on ever owning Some people watch the influencers, I watch the repair videos

I've believed in keeping it simple for years. Although I do admit a fuel injected motorcycle is a much easier beast to deal with. My archery gear has no sights. I guess it's all relevant.

Do I hear the simplicity of the springer world calling? Shooting my TX200 or HW97k actually takes skill to shoot, but the repairs are straight forward and relatively simple to do. It's a shame that you didn't sell your TX200 to me, Mike. I could have sold that fine rifle back to you, simplicity rules. Orv.

Love simple designs of pcps for all the reasons above. I have big bores nonregulated, the way there building them now with all the bells and whistles just for more to go wrong and most Arnt making more power, but you can repeat the same shot (built in regulator) If your aim is true as a hunter do you need to shoot twice? no.

Chances are that the complicated gun you bought shoots pretty good right out of the box. Lock up the tool box, put it away and take your eyes off the adjustment knobs.

Naw…just set it and forget it. What I’ve decided to do with mine. I have the wildcat bottle and was adjusting it quite a bit and the reg gave out. Not now. Got it fixed and the reg is staying at 116 bar. Shoots the 33.95 .25 at 900. I can slap in the .30 barrel, change the hammer weight and slightly adjust the internal screw and shoot 44.75 at 895. The reg is staying put and these are my two tunes.

That's what I did last year, set it up for .30, set the regs and don't touch it!

Yeah they are hammers. Shoot so accurately in both calibers. Newman at 910 rebuilt mine almost entirely. Mine ended up having a faulty tube where the second reg screwed in. He couldn’t get it to seal at all. Had to wait for that plenum piece to come from Sweden. Took awhile but hopefully it stays good.
