Ghost Ghosted by a Ghost XR Carbine…🤓👻🙈💥

Luis Leon

Master HAMster
Country flag
She arrived at the shop this Tuesday, May 21, 2024. I was paged to the office and…? Check out who’s joined the stable. The hair on the nape of my neck had been prickling all month long. Goose bumps everywhere, restless nights, feeling haunted, chatter from the other PCPs in the safe. And now I know why the sense of premonition. Check out what “materialized” before my eyes… A Ghost XR Carbine 👻 A big Thank you to Airguns of Arizona for the sweetly setup Ghost.

The images and videos on the interweb? Barely do it justice, it is simply a joy to hold and handle. The chassis is simply “solid” and impressive to this layman. I have never been superstitious but am starting to believe.🤓 The Ghost XR is a thoroughly vetted PCP, so my comments are simply those of a backyard plinker and occasional pester. And while I am enamored by the Ghost. The light, agile, and deadly Atomics in my safe are undaunted and whisper, “bring it on…”. They “ain’t afraid of no Ghost”, though the Pathfinder may be quaking a little as to its future role, TBD.

“All” my BRK Brococks have been drama free performers. I will simply plink away at least one whole tin of CPHPs with Ghost to let her settle in. Looking forward to figuring out how it fits into the current lineup. Am running the little West Hunter WHT 3-12x44 that was atop my Atomic. I have an unused G1 Helos 6-24x50 FFP, but am loathe to saddle her with a huge scope.

Currently sending as set up at AOA:

JSB Exact Jumbo 18.13 @ 902 FPS avg. / 900 min. / 905 max.

Spread 5 / Standard deviation 2

Regulator @ 100 BAR / Power Wheel on 10

Awww it's a little ghost! Loving the bipod, still waiting for one to be in stock in Canada for mine ( nobody has Atlas in stock currently) 🤦‍♂️ Took a Starling today with mine but not before it pucked all this oil...from..the gauge?! I wiped it up and kept shooting but hoping this isn't going to start leaking air!!

what a beautifull beast.
Pictures and even video don’t do it justice, and though I haven’t had the pleasure of handling an Evol. The Ghost is as rugged and robust, but more importantly? Versatile for those wanting to experiment with different calibers, tunes, barrel lengths, etc. Would love to have an owner of both do a comparison, not a “vs” thing, just a contrasting of the two.🙏

I have shot a Evol a few times, but don't own one. They are very nice robust platforms and built like a tank for sure. Tom has a good design there and I think they are coming out with an HP model soon.

The 👻 for me is almost perfect after I do a trigger job on it. Since we have 4 at the house you might say we really like being haunted by them😱.

I keep my 30 (Tigger) set up for competition and never really change anything on it except PW after we arrive at a venue. I have learned sighting in while in Arizona is much different than shooting in Texas...There's this thing called humidity that we don't have in Arizona 😂😂😂😂.

Buster, my pesting rig, is usually set up as a carbine 22, but this is the rifle I can change barrels on and not have to worry about screwing up. I even played with it yesterday and sped up the 18's to about 890 with very good results...

Yah good point about the trigger, let us know what you think about it Luis!? Mine is not overly heavy (1 pound my guess) but it is 'springy'. I make plenty of hits and don't do competitions so it's fine enough but it's no AA trigger out of the box. I took the barrel out to clean it and see how easy it was....very easy! 🤩 I would think build quality wise the guns would be similar; with the AAA better looking and more sleek, whereas the Ghost is way more customizable/adjustable....IF BRK WILL EVER SEND SLUG BARRELS! 😚

Very nice rifle and congrats. Your other rifles will be jealous. Enjoy!

It's not an oil filled gauge is it? That's very strange.

Wolverine Supplies has some in stock. Depending on what you want, they might have it. I was just looking at the MDT GRND-POD and it looks pretty good for the price. Good reviews also.

Yeah it sure surprised me, That was alot of oil! (to be clear I haven't oiled anything on it!) Shooting fine though so I keep an eye on it.

OK cool I will check them out! Was going for an Atlas psr but every Canadian store had em sold out. Spent waaaay to many late night hours hunting for one 🥴 I pest/plink mostly with the Ghost so that new Scandinavian arms bench model won't quite work for me🤔, but it sure looks nice. Alot of reviews beat up the 👻 trigger so I was prepared... but it's decent on mine anyways.

I was messing around with my trigger and got the second stage lighter. Not sure what it's at, but it feels better. I'll have to see if the group size shrinks at all.
