Here's a Huggett Atom, next to a 0DB 110, next to a Hogan Decimeter. I included an MOA coin and a pellet tin for a frame of reference.

I view the Atom as more of an add on to another shroud, like this, versus a stand-alone.

I've tested the Atom by itself to as low as 19fpe in .177. As a stand-alone it reduces report more than I thought it would, but not as much as I'd like.

I've had Tatsu and Tonto and Huggett Snipe and the ones shown in the photo and the best I've ever used for sound reduction is the Hogan Decimeter, but now we're talking about 7 inches long. Here are the (dirty) innards of the Hogan.

Thank you for that I like the size of the Atom

Probably have to custom make one, Mike. There are certain PB suppressors that are small enough but.... 1. Guessing from your name, can't own NFA items, and 2. You'd also need to have an adapter or different backcap to fit the threads of your airguns.
Or maybe PasadenaMike Cans will one day be a sponsor of HAM Nation?😁

Yeah those are out of the question for us here

Hello everyone,

I am developing this moderator, it is made using 3D printed process and for the internal them are machined. The attached link shows the performance of it. And the attached pics shows the dimensions. If someone need more info, please send me a PM.

is the huma effective?
i have one of the large 0-db unit on the wifes BRK concept and i want somthing a LOT smaller but not larger in diameter
I just received it today. I’ll let you know as soon as I try it. I’ve been using a Mod 30 25 cal with one piece in and that works well. This new one is a 22 cal. I bought the 25 cal as a 4/0 and the 22 as a 5/0. I bought the 22 I just received so I can put the 25 on my P35

Yea the huma one is tiny I really like it
It does a good job with my Concept Lite 22. It takes the bark away. My rifle groups better with the 25 cal model I have, as opposed to the 22 model. The 22 model is a little quieter. I want to test the groups again tomorrow, I ran out of time. I was also zeroing the Oneleaf NV400 that arrived today.

I don't know if Subscriber is a member here but he can design just about anything you want. The 2 I have are very effective too.

I just joined 2 days ago. I am waiting to hear the official position about sharing moderator designs on the HAM forum:

That is OK Steve. Better to have a rule, than for you to resent what I am doing, only to speak up about it a year later - as happened on AGN.

I suppose our little team should just design, make, test, repeat; in private. Then form a company after we have competitive products, and sell them next to Huggett and DonnyFL etc. If they are good enough, you might even end up reviewing them on HAM.

Cheers

Peter

Peter, yes that Rule has been there since day one of the HAM Community. But - rather than just apply it unthinkingly - I wanted to take the opportunity to go back and think about it again. Also to discuss it openly. To me that is important, too.

If you have a genuine interest in developing and selling airgun-related products - whatever they are - then I agree with your "design, make, test, repeat, form a company and sell" suggestion. A high proportion of companies in the airgun space started as hobbies that grew - including myself with Archer Airguns.

Should you wish to take that route I wish you all the best. My suggestion is that you start by writing a formal Business Plan Business plan - Wikipedia In my experience this is a critical step. I could never have started, or survived, as a small business owner without doing this. It forced me to think-through and document many aspects of my aims that I would have otherwise missed - and undoubtedly failed as a result.

That's my $0.02 but I hope it helps...

Thanks, Steve

I could not find the forum rules before joining. I still can't locate them. A link to the rules would be appreciated.

Anyway, I have been giving away my designs for free; as a favor to anyone who asked for help. So starting a business as a retired person seems like less fun than designing and making things that work. I think another approach is to sell designs to companies that already exist. Some of them expect work, almost for free. That goes out the window as soon as there is a schedule and a guy cracking a whip. Besides, exceptional airgun sound moderators require invention. Invention abides by the laws of nature, not the whims of businessmen.

I have designed hundreds of discreet custom airgun moderators and should inserts. That might seem like a lot of free work, gifted by me to others. Meanwhile they have made and tested my designs for me, for free. That is my business model. Employees that are eager to work for free, because they are also happy customers. In the process, I have learned a great deal about airgun sound suppression; and designs that support particular applications.

If you want a sample design to try in private, to see if my claims of goodness are warranted, send me a PM. Else, I consider the topic closed. After you post a link to the rules.
