I’m curious if anyone has thought about where they pump?

I’m in a high humidity environment, it’s 84% today outside.

I have a 2nd bathroom we don’t use much at all unless we have company. I set up a 2000sq foot dehumidifier in the room. With that I’m usually always at 20-25 percent humidity.

That's a really great question! Pretty-well every single Marauder we receive for repair at Archer Airguns leaks due to corrosion caused by moisture ingested when filling with a hand pump. Anything that you can due to pump in a lower humidity environment is really worthwhile.

One of the scariest pcp topics😱...I have the Hill MK5 with the desiccant and color changing beads. Changing it out annually. In my house only to fill my one pcp. Heat, a/c, and an HRV system! Lol the wood starts cracking, warping, knobs get loose, throat is dry when I wake up but my gun is dry inside too hopefully, mold is also a non issue 😅 🥴 When I crack the vent line I always look at the floor to see if any moisture is present. So far so good 🤞

Haha yeah bring up a filtering topic and all h3!! Breaks loose lol

I use an expensive molecular sieve filter down stream from a high pressure air oil separator on my Omega Air Charger. I'm in Vermont, it's humid here 75% if the time. The filter was around $400.-, it will last forever. Divide that by a dozen guns and many years of trouble free air, the cost is minimal.

high humidity here most of the time i have my compressor in the sunroom of the house under AC.
ot can get loud but if we are shooting we dont care. or i fill my tank when i am home alone.

I run mine with the air conditioner on close to the vent with dual filter traps for the moisture. My new compressor is called an Orcair Thunder recommended by Air Shootist and I have been using the last couple of days and it's a game changer for filling your gun collection. It fills much faster than my GX pump and the fans only run when necessary so it's much quieter. I've finally started putting the blue desicant beads in-between the filters as well to further eliminate moisture too.

Go on EBay and buy the orange desiccant beads. They will turn orange when they have to be changed and you can reconstitute them in the microwave.
