What'cha doing air gun related today?

Well, I was looking out at my target stand, thinking : I wish I could go out and shoot, it really looks nice and sunny. Then I looked over at the wind vane with disappointment. Good thing I did, 75yds down left side of the yard I saw water gushing out of the temporary (12+ months temp.) water connection. Luckily I did add an emergency shutoff. Procrastination bit me again. But, it did motivate me to go out and shoot a few shots lol.IMG_2892.webp

Bill you should hang some surveyors tape on that post by the tree and make a little stand to hang some on and put by your grill that will give you some indication what the wind is doing

I’ll do that. My thought process: hang some tape or flags along the shooting lane. Try and video the shot picture and the flags. I just went out and shot the 5x5. Besides my hands being so cold they locked up lol, the wind was compel different at each end of the yard.

Took the 840 out to the garage to try Air Rifle Championship at 7 yards with it. Proved that I need to stop procrastinating and get a reseal kit for the 840 so I can be consistent with it (pressure bleeds off within a minute or 3). Still fun, and great way to ignore shoveling our light snowfall. I'm tickled I hit any.20260201_143850.webp

Been fighting with air leaks from my liberty for quite a while. I've basically replaced every pressure retaining Oring in the rifle. The last thing to seal was one of Duys stainless steel valves with a peek poppet. I tried matching up some Orings for it but it was no joy. The rifle leaked even worse. Then I remembered, Duy sent an extra set of Orings when he sent me the valve. 👍👍👍 I'm letting it sit right now with pressure to check for leaks. It's funny, I have an impact, a Sumatra, and a sentry which all cost over twice as much or more but it's still my favorite air rifle.

Jan 30th I was on eBay looking for a possible replacement for my shot‑up Pro Chrono. It still works, but I was trying to get a BC on a slug and had zero luck finding anything in my price range that didn’t require putting a chronograph downrange. I’ve been hunting for something better for a long time.

That changed on the 30th.

I found one on eBay, took a chance, and it showed up today. It came in the original box with all the paperwork. I went through everything and it’s working exactly like it should. And the best part — I got it cheap.

Geeze, I'd probably go prone up against that fence line to shoot, and I hate going prone! lol

This weekend was a below zero cold one again but I still shot most of my pcp airguns. I did not check the first shot fps of my P15, but I did after I missed my 100y target. Yup, orings on the probe needed to be replaced. They lasted years though. I tried the oring delete thing, using fuel line but I could not get it on the probe. Orings work fine I guess , and I love having them on the probe instead of in the barrel; probably neck and neck with the best mod I ever did to an airgun, the other being the arca plate on my 250z. The Gauntlet still shot exactly the same and I have forgotten how long it's been since I did anything to it besides shoot it. The Paradigm, Mrod, MA2 and 250z performed well too. This evening I decided that, after all the cold weather we have been having, it was time to take the TalonP out of my truck and shoot it. Not only did it hold air, it held zero too. Phenomenal! It wasn't in a case either, just on the seat with a spare jacket hiding it from view, and sometimes groceries and what not. It is a tough little bugger!

I made a little video explaining the CF shroud mod on my EQ a little better and to let people know they can get a mod kit from Heartland Air do the stock length barrel. So you don’t have to do the whole swap to have a better shroud/tensioner…. Pretty sure he makes them for the Zelos too.

I just bought one on optics planet new for $284. Goes with my Pard DS35-LRF I got on Ebay for $399.

.22 Norma 17.6gr pellets arrived today, I'm impressed by the one tin I opened and by naked eye how uniform they are. And for 25 yards out I'll have to test more but in a kneeling position and no rest as I didn't have time to set my makeshift shooting stand up they hit pretty accurate in the Nova Liberty at 955-940 fps freehanded and 825-810 fps on the Notos. Yes it's probably too high but I'm like a kid when I get a new pellet, I gotta run out and try it Real Fast!
