Marauder What would you miss about the Marauder?

Here’s a very good question that’s never been asked.
If the current Marauder gets discontinued today what about the Marauder would you miss the most after a 13+ year run?

All the aftermarket parts vendor support, because it would surely dry up. My aluminum tubed modified Marauder is still my favorite off-hand hunting rifle, but only because of that aftermarket tube and various other parts. Without those parts, to me, it's worthless and I would always use my Paradigm. I know benchrest or target shooters don't care about the weight and balance so much, but I do.

Definitely the ability to obtain parts for mods or repairs. I’d really like to see an updated Marauder pistol.

Not a thing! A stagnant design, with such a long run why not a side lever already, or other refinements? I understand that its been a fine platform for many to build upon. But Crosman seems lazy in capitalizing on the model and relies on the aftermarket to up the performance. I simply never considered a Marauder and never will. Now if they reinvent? Then yes…

in my research it was the lack of just a few things that stoped me from getting one fist off and as a fran of older Benjamin guns they could have had my money.
i am still looking at getting one because i feel a since camaraderie with the bejamin name at a minimum and plan to do some heavy moding to get what i want.
what would be nice would be that they make these ungrades and mods so i dont have to : )

If the Marauder I had last winter was regulated I would have maybe kept it, at the time the .25 wasn't available with a regulator. With that said I loved shooting the rifle, the bolt made it very fun, it was smooth, it wasn't cumbersome. My current Prod sharing that same bolt, having had multiple people shoot it who have 10s of thousands in PCPs all commented how fun it was to shoot and how accurate.

I think to discontinue it would make a bunch of people sad, maybe continue to produce the current line and drop price, while offering a "sport" or "competition" version with a side lever or something.

The Benjamin Cayden appears to be the way to go if planning to move away from the Marauder platform. Funny how a company like Airforce Airguns keeps a large following by continuing to produce a tried and true platform. The most significant additions to the platform are the TX2 valve and a shroud. It doesn’t seem to have hurt that brand much, but the Maruader isn’t a big bore.

I have butted heads so many times, on several different forums over the years, about the decisions made by Benjamin, Crosman, Velocity Outdoors, on the Marauder, that I am extremely fatigued by this topic. Everyone always misunderstands the message and believes that you're a hater when it's the exact opposite. I do hate the fact that they went overseas instead of just upgrading the one built here. Just charge more! If everybody and their brother are upgrading these things, they end up spending the money anyways. Look around, this and other forums, people don't seem to mind spending over a grand on an airgun so why doesn't Velocity Outdoors make one? This is the same company that owns Ravin and has no problem with selling a crossbow that goes for $3K. Their customers (me) have been asking them to keep the Marauder (not something else, the Marauder) on the upgrade path for years and the response has been everything except what was asked for. They did a big survey a few years back, and the big winner was adding a sidelever and then it was changing the tube to aluminum to take down weight, etc,. They knew what people wanted, they just didn't want to do it to the Marauder, and they instead released the Kratos, Cayden, Akela, series. Why didn't they make the Marauder competitive against the top tier market and release the Kral guns for the people who didn't want to spend the extra coin? One wonders, but they did do regulated versions, semiautomatic versions, Armada versions, Challenger versions (WHICH HAS A SIDELEVER!), just no regular version that is considered top tier (meaning Daystate and FX to be clear) and made in America with a sidelever, and aluminum tube, or a carbon fiber bottle version for that matter, they could have done a bullpup too. Let the foreign guns be your value line and elevate the Marauder back to the top where it should be. Why not aim high? They certainly do with Ravin. jmo

i just svaed and bought two AAA EVOLs because i wanted a USA made quality gun with fetures bejamin did not offer. and i did look at the Marauder specifcaly. i also looked at the Cayden but passed because i wanted a USA made gun.

Although I don’t currently own a Marauder except for my pistol, I do own a very very nice shooting Akela. I’d love to see the Marauder stick around and inherit the side lever action of the Akela and others in the Turkish lineup. I say I don’t own one currently, because I was able to shoulder one the other day and I have to say I really do like the feel of the rifle.
