HAM has brought you information about the Gen 3 Marauder before. However the specific information about the BSA barrel fitment is relatively new news – at least to me. So I spoke to the gun’s designer John Solpietro. That’s John on the left in our heading photo with a prototype Gen 3 and along with Shawn Pragle, who runs the Crosman/Benjamin PCP assembly operation..
Here’s what John had to say…
John explained that – in the past – most Marauders had Crosman-manufactured barrels. However, some specific models were fitted with barrels sourced from outside manufacturers such as TJ and Lothar Walther. Given that Benjamin is now part of the ICOG group, it made sense to consider using BSA barrels as an in-house source of supply.
So, all Gen 3 Marauders are to have BSA barrels.
“I think there’s going to be some real happy customers when it comes to accuracy”, John explained to me about this barrel choice.
“They’re some good guys at BSA and they have many years of experience of manufacturing high quality, hammer-forged barrels”, John continued. “The hammer forging process gives good control over the I/D of the barrel and a nice, clean finish,” he continued. “The Marauder Gen 3 with BSA barrel is going to be a great gun!”
At a selling price of $829.99, the launch-model Benjamin Marauder Gen 3 is priced at $230 more than the regular selling price of the existing, Gen 2 Marauder. But that price difference gives a large number of benefits – the “Gen 3” really is a completely new airgun.
Now we have a much larger number of consistent shots available, courtesy of the built-in regulator and removable, 500cc HPA bottle. That regulator is externally-adjustable, too, for easy power level changes.
Pyramyd is showing an estimated, in-stock date of 27 May, 2026. Yikes! That’s just a couple of weeks from now…
