LOL, EBR 100 yard measures at 108 or something very close to 100m. We still have 15 points to go and many Xs.

If there is ever a slug comp at EBR, I agree maybe 200y BR.

Well as the course of fire has never been cleared at 100 Yards for sure - and maybe not at 75 Yards - I feel there's still life in the current distance. But then I am not a Benchrest competitor

I think the distances are fine if not to far. I think we all need to remember the airgun started out as a back yard gun. Competition has turned it into how far can we go. 100 yards is a minimum of 4 houses away and 200 yards is over the street in front of you over that house and the one behind it across the street behind that and hitting a squirrel on top of the house across the 2nd street. I would be much more in favor of making the scoring zones smaller, maybe moving the 50 yard card out to 100.

Just a side note for the conversation about 100yd discipline. If you want distance, EBR has the Extreme Big Bore shooting out to 500yd and so on. Just a hint for those that wish there was greater, more extreme distances

I think 100Y is fine for pellets, but I’d like to see a longer (150Y) same targets with slugs. That would be interesting.

At the Oregon EFT GP and 100Y BR this past May we had a 100Y BR with slugs. It was interesting and the slug scores were on average about 15 points higher than pellets under similar conditions.

Personally I'd like to see paper brought back into the big bore events, something like that might bring back some of the OG long range shooters to the events. As far as Benchrest goes, I definitely see things being moved further out than 100 as Airguns, barrels and pellets/slugs have progressed.

What i think would be great (unfortunately most likely impossible) would be to have local matches to qualify for matches like ebr and rmac. You know shoot a match say once a month at a local club and the guy or perhaps 2 with the highest average get to go to the big shows. Thatway everyone is on equal footing to make the bigs

Anyone can attend and shoot these events, just need to be quick with registration. Keep in mind these large events attract a ton of shooters and fill up very fast, they don't have unlimited amount of space for anyone who decides last minute they want to compete. Many of these shooters are preparing for these events eight months in advance.

I think you’re missing my point. If there were local matches in every state without all the big names and teams then you would have 1 or 2 , (however it got setup ) good old boys get i without having to compete against the big guns in the beginning. If you had 2 from each state thats 104 how many competed at ebr? Even if you had to knock it down to 1 Hope your following what im trying to say. If a guy wants it bad enough he only has to make state champ and hes in and anyone else from that state that is interested is already beaten. As it is the majority are big names or teams and if all the state guys average better than the bigs well they get a break!

No nothing like that. Too hard to get pb clubs involved with air. I think it would be cool though

Best way to see more local events=everyone that feels that way needs to get involved in making on happen in their area.

People want the fun without the work. I'd encourage anyone who wants more competitions to sign up with a couple buddies to host one. There are a lot of companies and organizations looking for help!
