Spring/Piston The great kaleidoscope of Diana springers

I clamped this gun down and it would not drop two pellets even close so if it requires magic I am out dont have the time or desire : )
Clamping a springer is detrimental to the accuracy of the rifle, hence the artillery hold. In the 70’s my dad ( retired U.S. Army) thought my technique of resting my air rifle on my finger and thumb tip's, or on my fist was strange. He thought I should be gripping the forearm. I’m not doubting that you had some inaccurate springers - there’s plenty of them out there.

I reall think its the gun I have held it loose and tight firm and soft and I figure no matter how you hold it if you cant hit a coffee can at 10 yards I have no use for it.

now if where where talking a silver dollar then I would say its mostly me which I think it is on some degree but I think its not not good

I own several Diana springers and they are all extremely accurate. I don't believe clamping it down is helping the situation. So you cock it, then clamp it down, then repeat? Sounds exhausting. It's technique, not magic.

Pan60 - I was hammering a 6" steel target at 100 yards with a Diana 34 in .22 last fall, and if the target had been half that size I still would have owned it.
Run of the mill D34, Hawke AirMax, whatever pellets I was using. Keep in mind - I'm nobody special as a shooter.

Either your rifle is really messed up somehow, or you need new glasses.... lol.

I'd love to see you triumph over this!

come on!
No!
somthing I tried many years ago to see if the pellet would hit in the same place trying to figure out why I could hit anything with it I gave up on this thing many many many years ago

I jad a really cheap daisy made one once I think it said it was a winchester but it was horrid I got it used and it was beat barrel loose I didnt want to mess with it so I gave it to a buddy that wanted it.
maybe someday I will get ahold of one and go wow that is nice.
?

It's you sir, not the Diana. Shooting nearly any break barrel accurately is almost a black art. Technique including hold, breath control, recoil anticipation, proper pellets and fatigue are all exaggerated with break barrels. Magnums are even more difficult to shoot, but satisfaction mastering to shoot one accurately is sublime. Nearly anyone can shoot a PCP accurately, hence their popularity, but only, in my opinion, a true Marksman can master a springer.
AA 200 and ASP20 owners smile bemusingly.
