A follow-up on shootability.

I could not imagine shooting this gun with low dovetail rings and the stock bottle setup. I did get it already with a picatinny rail to raise it some, but that wasn't enough. The whole design is already tall, and I didn't want to go with taller rings. I had thought that I could get use to it, and I just couldn't. I got the drop down adapter from Talon Tunes and a .22L carbon fiber bottle. The length of trigger pull is 13" with the adapter and bottle. The .22L bottle is 54mm in diameter so I couldn't use the stock from the 50mm aluminum standard bottle. I just put a neoprene beer bottle cover on it to give it some protection, and cover that with a cheekrest bag that I put ammo in and other small stuff I might need. This bag and everything ends up being just below the height of the barrel tube. It makes a significant difference in the ease to look through the scope. No, it doesn't look as cool, but neither does walking around with a crick in one's neck. I don't like that there is no way to clock the adapter for the fill port and guage. No easy way, anyway. I got it close enough that I am not going to pursue any other options for the time being.

No Bill, I called your suppressor ugly! It was, but if it works better than anything else, it's beautiful where it counts.

The 54mm carbon fiber bottle is an orphan to the aftermarket too. Nobody seems to recognize that it even exists. It's hard enough to find anything for the 50mm bottles, but 54mm -nothing. I guess what I am doing will keep the weight down anyway. This gun already weighs in at 7.75lbs, feels solid for sure.

I was kidding. But, for what it’s worth that suppressor departed and is no longer with us LOL. My TalonP is hanging on the wall right now. I like the look of your Talon, it has a serious look about it.

Huge mistake today! I got all butterfingers and grabbed my TalonP by the bottle, which is covered by a neoprene bottle cover and a stock/cheekpiece accessories holder that is not really connected in any meaningful way. Well. I remembered all of that a second too late and did a full on, chest height, gun spin, and slip fall, to the concrete floor faster than I could swear about it! The aftermath??? Nothing!! I couldn't believe it, onto a concrete floor. Even my scope is fine. The bottle did spin loose because of the drop down adapter but a simple 1/8th of a twist and re-tightening of the set screw and it's fine. It didn't even lose zero. I got lucky this time, I know.

NH just had some single digit weather and I kept my TalonP in my truck to see how it would do. Aces! It held air just fine. We'll see how it does after several big dips but just the constant heating and cooling, so far, seems to mean nothing to it. I still don't have it in a case either. I'm pleased and surprised how immutable this airgun seems to be.

Beautiful day of shooting today and I finished the rotation with my TalonP. This is a ridiculously cool looking little gun. It makes me laugh every time I see it. Absolutely my best use of slap on parts yet. The important thing though is how tough it is. It, of course, has never lost zero, even after a fall on concrete, and doesn't lose air either. I'm still not a fan of the shot cycle, but hey, it works! It is really accurate and powerful for such a short barrel too. These guns are still very relavent, even in a world of hammerless semi's, these things will be around with the cockroaches, lol.
